It struck me as odd that a person could register to vote in a runoff election, when they hadn't been registered before the original election, but the fact is that those who were Georgia residents, and turned 18 after Nov 3rd, but before the runoff election date, certainly should have a right to do so, and be permitted to do so. However, permitting registration to vote in Georgia for those who voted in other states on Nov 3rd, is just inviting registration on false grounds to vote in this crucial senate runoff election. The above news story illustrates that - a Florida lawyer who registered to vote after Nov 3rd, using his brother's address in Georgia, and publicly encouraged others to do so on social media, with clear fraudulent intent.

Georgia should be flagging EVERY new voter registration that happened between Nov 3rd and Dec 7th, NOW, and investigate them BEFORE the runoff election. EVERY new registration - not just registrations selected according to the voting tendencies of that county - and with legitimate democratic and republican observers monitoring the investigation. Proof of residence in Georgia could be any of the following, all done/obtained BEFORE November 3rd: enrollment in school, a lease, a Georgia driver's license or Georgia state ID, receipt of public benefits at a Georgia address BEFORE november 3rd (Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, SNAP, WIC, etc.) health insurance based upon a Georgia address BEFORE Nov 3rd, residential state income tax filing in Georgia. An alert to potentially fraudulent registration would be those who obtained a new, first-time Georgia ID after Nov 3rd, or claimed Georgia residency based upon an address that is not owned or leased long term by them, who have no way to prove frequent, habitual presence in Georgia before November 3rd. It's pretty obvious that a person who owns or leases a home outside of Georgia, whose cars are registered outside of Georgia, whose business is registered outside of Georgia, whose health insurance, taxes, and if they receive them, public welfare benefits, are all received outside of Georgia, has fraudulently claimed residence in Georgia and fraudulently registered to vote in Georgia.

Somehow, I have a feeling that the new registrations after November 3rd, if examined, would reveal a significant number of registrations from people who actually had no intention of moving to Georgia to establish a long-term residence, but are instead moving there temporarily, in name only, in order to cast votes in this crucial Senate election. And I suspect that most of those who did register fraudulently, would have political sympathies identical to those of this Florida lawyer, who should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, and should be disbarred.

Oh, joy! Bill Price, the attorney who registered fraudulently and encouraged others to do so on Facebook, is being investigated in both Florida AND Georgia!
