Plenty of non millionaires get elected to Congress, problem is they all seem to become millionaires when they get there. At least someone who is a millionaire first is much more likely to not be influenced by money being thrown at them. Idealy i would prefer to vote for someone who is a self made millionaire who made their wealth over a few decades. So they both were not born with a silver spoon and who understands building wealth over many years instead of striking it rich with a lucky Invention or being in the right place at the right time.
Can you show a person that went in with say 2 million and came out with around the same?
If 2 million is good, 10 million is better they say.
It looks like there is major resistance by the rich in letting in anyone except the rich in our government.
Fine, just call our government an oligarch that only represents the rich.
Parade this through the media as well so our young will know better than joining the military that is a tool for the rich.
The OP obviously has little grasp on how finance capitalism actually works. To him, "wealth" is money in a vault, or at best in a bank account -- which he would like to see redistributed to those who share his ignorance -- if they could just get their hands on it.
In reality, most of that wealth is represented by common stock -- available to the public at a price determined by the workings of an open market -- and brokers' commissions are a fraction of what they were in the stagnant Seventies.
Or a young person can simply re-invest the dividends on an established stock -- what's known as a Dividend Reinvestment Plan, or DRIP Account; but the emerging companies, like Amazon or Netflix, usually pay little or no dividend -- because those "obscene profits" are plowed back into future growth.
And the most successful enterprises are usually favored by the most successful institutions -- charity, college and hospital endowments, including the pension funds of the enterprises the OP loves to hate.
So the OP can't get his hands on any of this unless his gang of wannabee Robin Hoods forces the holders -- sometimes including the founders of the enterprise to liquidate. And if that action were forced. the returns would be a lot less, since the stock would "tank".

Our government should not be run to serve the rich in the finance sector, a small % but should run to serve all Americans.
Otherwise those Americans should rise up and overthrow our government.
Elect them to do what, tax the elites so we can hand out free dollars to the broke idiots?
I don’t believe in the trickle down nonsense, but the reality is if the elites are not doing well, the middle class certainly won’t be. Who do you creates jobs and employed people?
From what I've seen over there, No one!!! Ultra high unemployment, horrible wealth inequality, almost no workers rights. But your undying love for, and blind worship of the rich grows stronger each day!!
Wouldn't that make more sense since the POWER is in our hands. There aren't as many trust fund millionaire babies that vote as there are broke people or middle class working people in this country. We ARE the majority people. Just remember that.
Its not like a corporation to where we have no power to how are our lives impacted. We can control our future. But broke idiots would much rather elect those that never struggled a day in their life financially

I have no problem with people that get rich in the Private Sector. I do have a problem with career politicians like Biden that get rich while in office.

Nobody has a China policy that is not cringeworthy.
I could probably do a good job but I admit I'd be open to corruption until I got a good 5 mil or more in net worth. Someone who already has wealth would be less corruptible in theory.
