Wouldn't that make more sense since the POWER is in our hands. There aren't as many trust fund millionaire babies that vote as there are broke people or middle class working people in this country. We ARE the majority people. Just remember that.

Its not like a corporation to where we have no power to how are our lives impacted. We can control our future. But broke idiots would much rather elect those that never struggled a day in their life financially

We can easily END the ruin of this country caused the elite class.

Its like Slaves electing plantation owners to office. Stop being stupid. Get WORKING middle class political candidates to run our government for a change. See how quick things turn around for the majority

Yes, we should definitely hand the countries finances over to those who can't even handle their own finances. That sounds like a great idea.

Plenty of non millionaires get elected to Congress, problem is they all seem to become millionaires when they get there. At least someone who is a millionaire first is much more likely to not be influenced by money being thrown at them. Idealy i would prefer to vote for someone who is a self made millionaire who made their wealth over a few decades. So they both were not born with a silver spoon and who understands building wealth over many years instead of striking it rich with a lucky Invention or being in the right place at the right time.

We handed them over to Trump and he has filed bankruptcy how many times? How did his Atlantic City Investments go? Don't fuss he has never provided any proof of his real net worth, like his accusations of fraud his alleged business savvy is probally wisps of air and wishful thinking...

Elect them to do what, tax the elites so we can hand out free dollars to the broke idiots?

I don’t believe in the trickle down nonsense, but the reality is if the elites are not doing well, the middle class certainly won’t be. Who do you creates jobs and employed people?

Problem is it takes pretty much someone who is financially independent, or at least has support to lean on, to run for office. Not many jobs are going to allow someone to not only take off so much time to campaign, but provide pay as well for doing so.

A person also is in danger of losing their job anyway due to the fact the company knows they are searching for other employment (holding office), and the views of the employee may be opposed by the company, so terminate.

The only flip side to this is someone running with little to nothing to lose, own nothing, have nothing, no dependents to take care of, possesses a low skilled job which can quit and pick up another easily, they are in a way just as independent as a person who is wealthy.

Being not wealthy does not mean a person cannot handle their finances.

The elites have been doing great since NAFTA and even better the last 4 years with the Trump Tax cuts . Meanwhile the rest of the socioeconomic classes have slipped further into poverty and are now STARVING and losing everything they own due to COVID and BEGGING the scumball elites for help for months now ... to no avail

Try again professor

All other aspects of US government and politics aside, the current campaigning process makes it almost impossible for a middle class (actually middle class, not faux-humble "I consider myself upper middle class" richie riches) or working class person to run for office. It costs a giant pile of money to run, which you generally have to seed yourself at least in the early days, and it's a full-time effort for months or even years on end. Someone who works for a living just doesn't have the money or free time.
