I don't get anything no matter the amount.

Still, I'd rather have my fellow victims of armed robbery get my money back then the mafia keeping it.

Tucker: Congress tells struggling Americans to take '$600 and shut up'
Of course he does. He's a statist goon.

It's our money. We shouldn't had it stolen from us in the first place but it's only right to give us back every single penny.

We create wealth. The mafia just steals it.

In all fairness Trump continued to advocate on behalf of Americans to receive stimulus money for months, including when he was sick with coronavirus in Walter Reed Hosp. He repeatedly said get a bill passed to help fellow Americans and said he would sign it right away. Congress didn't do anything but 'talk' for months. I didn't vote for Trump for other reasons but give credit where its due. He has wanted direct payments for Americans for a long while and has said so numerous times.

Sadly this is standard operating procedure in Congress regardless of which party holds the majority. The voters should be outraged such tactics take place but for the most part the news media is remarkably silent on these spending measures.

I wasn’t a fan of Bill Clinton but I did like his idea of line item veto. A president issued a veto on select segments of a bill (like pork spending measures not in any way related to the original intent of the bill) and then members of Congress must have their votes on record in favor of overriding the president’s veto of each individual line item. They sneak in such items because they would t want their votes on record for supporting such spending.

Yes, he can veto it. If both the House and the Senate have 2/3 majorities that are ready to override that veto, they can do that. But it does not happen automatically. They have to actually do it

They better not.

Took four years for trump to do something right. About damn time. Veto that garbage bill and give more money to Americans instead of art galleries or whatever the pointless trash is

If he would have stood up for average Americans before, he would have won re election

Interestingly enough, this is a fair assessment.

I phrase it that way because we are still talking about Trump so at the last minute, had Congress "gone big", he could have changed his mind or said he never mentioned anything or...well...you know how he rolls.

But yeah, it really is up to the Republicans in the Senate at this point. We all know that the Democrats are going to be fine with keeping it as is plus the extra Trump bucks then quickly look over at the GOP.

So now it's up to the Turtle.

They need to remove the hundreds of billions in pork and foreign spending.

Veto a bill that is unvetoable (figuratively speaking)? That just delays payment.
