Are African-Americans better than Native Americans in the Liberals world?
The Native Americans were here first, & they never had the option to become slaves, they were just wiped out, or placed on reservations to die of disease...right?
Isn't that discrimination?
Why do sports teams have to ditch native American names, which will bury their existence, & repressed past? Isn't a "Brave" native American a compliment of a past warrior status?
Why is there Black History MONTH, and Indigineous People's DAY? Why isn't it the other way around?
Didn't the Native Americans save the Pilgrims from starvation? Why isn't that emphasized on Thanksgiving? That feast wouldnt have been possible w/o Native Americans.
Didn't Native Americans lose everything, while African Americans today have greater advantage, and opportunity, & live a superior existence here & now, as compared to where they came from?
There are Black colleges who get lots of federal monies, but today, I read about a Native American education grant for the 1st time, how much monies ar granted to each group annually?

LOL. First off. Liberals don't have such mindset. Those who do black and indigenous are known as woke people or sjws. Woke sjws view blacks as the most oppressed and marginalized, while native Americans are a close 2nd due to stolen land.

Everyone born here is a native there are no special ones and none of our early ancestors were natives everyone of them migrated here. There was no stolen land either.

I ask folks who are in either group if they have any preferences I should know about.
It's not hard to do, and so far, no one has been offended by my simple question. I don't wasn't to offend anyone accidentally, so the question is asked in good faith and is taken for that.
So far, the only words that are universally despised are "*****", "squaw", and the n-word. I expect it won't be long before that first word becomes the I-word and the second he S-word, and everyone will know which words are being referred to when its mentioned.
Who ranks minorities/races by favorites -- oh wait maybe a Trump fan because they are the one asking.

And yes --- some threads are purposely meant to just give opportunity to hurl insults at conservatives.
Hard to pick my fave race...I tend to be shallow and judge a person based on their personal traits and character -- but I am just a crazy Trump critic.....lol.
The liberals in the South Dakota reddit will go to bat for the native americans but when I criticize the indians for how trashy their reservations are and how they are lazy and don't maintain their properties they say that we destroyed their culture and way of life.
I ask them if we gave them half the state would they even want to go back to herding buffalo and living in teepees or would they demand modern conveniences? It usually quiets them. Cultures never stay the same. Change is at the nature of incarnating here. 80% of indians live outside of reservations in local communities in this state and have assimilated. The reservations tend to be located in fairly isolated areas where there's not a lot of economic activity.
I get it... we were brutal to them.. but we were just being how we've always been until very recently. Humans are not angels. Culture makes us more tolerant today but in the animal world the strong survive.
We give them handouts and it removes their motivation to better themselves, just like with the inner cities and the "trailer trash" and other assorted low income individuals. I guarantee you if they got no free money they'd get a job rather than sit home drinking all day. Hunger usually motivates people to take action to solve the problem. It's that changing behavior through negative stimulus I mentioned in the other thread.
The ones in states where they are the ones that can run Casinos and only them do much better. I think that's a good policy to have and a way to give back to them... let them run casinos on their reservations and nowhere else in the state, like they do in Wisconsin. In South Dakota anyone can have a casino or video lottery machines so they are everywhere.
Not even sure where to start with this. I’ve spent a lot of time on the Pine Ridge reservation. It’s one of the poorest places on the continent. Getting rid of the casinos in Deadwood would not fix that. Cyclical poverty is a real thing. When you grow up in a broken home, your odds of escaping it are extraordinarily low. That compounds when it has been that way for generations.
We took these people and gave them the most undesirable land in the country. Some were fortunate, as the Southern Ute in Colorado, and found oil and gas on their land late enough to not be taken away. Others, like their neighbors, the Mountain Ute, did not.
Oklahoma allows only tribal casinos, with a couple of small exceptions. Even there, it is the luck of the draw. The tribes like the Cherokee, Choctaw, and Chickasaw, who happen to be closer to Dallas and Tulsa, have significantly benefited. Others, not so much.
What is the answer? Education and opportunity as far as I can tell. The first is easier than the second, but neither is a walk in the park. I know some amazing tribal members who have overcome the odds and gone to excellent universities and work as CEOs and CFOs. I’ve met Ben Nighthorse Campbell a couple of times; once while he was a sitting US Senator.
Blaming the tribes for their predicament is neither helpful nor compassionate. It reeks of your own insecurity. Be part of the solution or just shut up and move on with your life.
As for the OP, I cannot imagine what sort of place you must be in to dwell about such things. I feel bad for you and hope you find some peace in the new year.

I would put illegals higher--more specifically those from Latin America--and say more specifically male-to-female trans.
