Pending the GA runoffs, which all the Pubs have to do is split, the Turtle is in charge of the USA until '22, when 22 Pub & 12 Dem Senate seats are up for election.

You can argue if its good, or bad, but he's calling the shots for the next 2+ yrs.

If Trump can't get his $2,000 tax rebates past him, how will Biden get anything past him?

This is a foreshadlowing of what is to come. A President + House being nullified by the Senate.

The balance of powers at work.

Given the general incompetence of Government and the individuals in Government habit of spend ing the peoples money on themselves and their pet projects a do nothing Government is often the best thing we can get. It seems things often work much better when Government gets out of the way. Reagan was perhaps right when he called them the most terrifying words in the English language "I'm from the Government, and I'm here to help."

Reagan was a delusional actor who destroyed this country with his dreams off a free trade organization that lets financial markets control the economy.

Republicans are no different. McConnel is no different.

Biden is not president- he is a pretender fraudulently installed via an illegal coup.

Someone needs to look into how he keeps getting re elected time and time again!

I live in KY and very rarely do I ever talk to anyone who likes McConnell.

Biden and McConnell have a different personal relationship than McConnell had with Trump.

They have known each other for years as Senators, and are much more collegial than McConnell ever was with Trump.

Mitch loves power every bit as much as Trump, but he knows he doesn't have the personal magnetism and won't ever be as popular in the conservative base's world he depends on.

He gets his power from being silently, ruthlessly quiet, working behind the scenes, inside the closed chamber, and on the down low. There was no way he could compete with Trump's in-your-face style, so he didn't even try.
He will try Biden, and he could try him more personally and directly than Mitch every tried Trump.

That's because McConnell knows he won't be hit with a blowtorch if he challenges Biden. Pelosi could stand up to Trump's blowtorch, but not McConnell. He never could.

I live in Kentucky also. We don’t like him, not a single member of the family. We all voted for him anyway.

McConnell got from Trump what he always dreamed of, lots and lots of conservative judges. He even got himself three on SCOTUS. McConnell is afraid of no one, he quietly rules from behind the curtains - and no one knows it’s happening until after he’s gotten what he wanted.

the Dems are going to pick up both of the Georgia seats. It’s a done deal.

I wouldn't be surprised if McConnell's kids don't particularly like him either. He's got as much empathy as a rotting corpse. OTOH, a lot of people respect him even if they won't admit it, He's damned effective at pulling sinews from behind the curtain to make the marionettes dance and also a pragmatists. He never had any love for Trump, see 2015-2016 and read in between the lines. He basically called him a clueless idiot and a disaster for the Republican party. But unlike say the Lincoln Party Republicans, he's a pragmatist and used Trump to his fullest and then kicked him to the curb.

For the country's sake, I hope Mitch was right on his 2015-2016 read of Trump as a pawn that could be used and discarded once its usefulness had run its course. He may have bit off more than he could chew though, which only time will tell.
