University of Michigan 'task force' labels word 'picnic' as offensive

The University of Michigan has been blasted as 'moronic' for launching a task force which has branded the words 'picnic,' 'brown bag' and 'blacklist' as offensive terms which could harm morale.

The 'Words Matter Task Force' - set up by the school's Information and Technology Services department - listed more than two dozen words and phrases that could be perceived as offensive to some people, and provided an alternative term that could be used instead.

These things come out of academia. This is no different than media academics claiming that the master bedroom comes from slavery. Lol. And people ran with it and believed it.

UGH such nonsense. I work in real estate and our MLS dropped the "master bedroom" so as not to offend anyone and now we are supposed to use the phrase "first bedroom" . Well I'm offended by that because the first implies that the second and third are not as good and being second and third means that you lost, that you are a loser. I think we should just call it a bigger room with a bed but the word bigger might offend fat people that think because they are fat that I steered them to the larger room..



This nonsense is never ending.



I'd rather go to a picnic than to a, "lets sit on a blanket and eat and drink stuff outdoors".




I'm so tired of this "woke" nonsense. I still haven't heard my favorite Christmas tune this year "Baby it's cold outside" because last year they had it banned, telling us that it was a recipe for date rape.
