Trump is making a last stand to bring notice to the swamp that is DC. The "stimulus" bill is nonsense. the amount of pork in it is obscene. Why couldn't our elected get together and write a simple bill to help Americans in need? No they had to write 5000 pages and bury what they knew We The People would be outraged by. They even tried to slip it past their own by demanding a vote before anyone could read it. It sounds like a repeat of when Pelosi said of Obamacare "we need to pass it to understand what is in it".
Does anyone remember when Pelosi called the first stimulus of $1200 "crumbs" and now she is calling $600 brilliant ? Who is playing politics here while the average American suffers under the Government shutdowns? Who doesn't care about the collateral damage that all the grandstanding and pompous actions of our elected elite have inflicted on us?
The Covid relief bill should be just that and NOT Billions of dollars handed over to foreign countries to help them. Did anyone notice in that bill there was $25 million earmarked for raises to House members?
Of course Trump is bitter that the election was stolen from him, who wouldn't be? Trump doesn't need to sabotage anything because the Dems and some Reps are doing it themselves.
That's what is really going on here. Donald feels abandoned and sore that no one outside a handful of idiots is taking is continued attempts to throw out the election seriously. He's mad that Mitch McConnell publicly handed the congratulations to Biden. And that's the only real reason he is doing this now.
It is true that there is all kinds of junk in the bill that should be removed; and the amount per head is certainly debatable. But Donald knows that $2K per head is a non-starter and in express opposition to what GOP wants. He's not really serious. That's the integrity and character of this President.
He just wants to set fire to this, sit back and enjoy the flames, and watch government hopefully shut down after Christmas, and maximize whatever message can for Congress and the Biden administration. The more he can do to get back at people who wouldn't support his coup, the more damage he can do, the better. If he can sabotage more, he will.
And if Americans happen to take collateral damage over this, so be it.. he's gonna be enjoying the weather at his Mar-a-Lag palace, and you won't.
Honestly... it’s a really ****ty bill. And it’s probably the gop to thank for that.
There really needs to be more accountability on these politicians. The fear of being voted out of office evidently is not enough of a deterrent for them to write such traitorous bills.
Sorry..but it's Pelosi that introduced the bill and hurriedly got a vote done before anyone could read all 6000 pages.
Gee...where have we seen that before ..."Got to pass the bill to see what's in it"
I’m sure it was republicans that pushed for a lower amount of 600.
I’m sure it was republicans that want to let businesses that got free money from the ppp loans to double dip and also get to write off spending that money.
I’m sure it was republicans that includes the nice tax break for race horse owners.
I think they should just override Trump's veto (they had the votes to do it) and pass the bl--dy bill, and add more stimulus provisions later when we have a semi-sane occupant in the Oval Office.
