Activist dismayed 'affluent black kids are demanding lowered standards,' not equal treatment
Civil rights activist Carol Swain, who was just named to President Trump's "1776 Commission" to teach American heritage, told Just the News this week she is dismayed that "affluent black kids are demanding lowered standards" instead of equal treatment under the law.
Swain, a prominent African-American social and political commentator, said she's also horrified that left-leaning activists today are dismissing time-tested social virtues and institutions like punctuality, proper grammar, the nuclear family, diligence and perseverance as examples of "whiteness" or "white-dominant culture." ...
Who would have thunk it?
When I was in med school, we had a program that gave preferential admission to minorities. The "best" minority student with regard to MCATs and GPA was not as good as the worst non-minority student.
In addition, the minority students were given scholarships and grants, so not only did they go tuition free, they were PAID to go to med school via stipends.
I could not help but noticing that ALL of the minority students were from very well to do families (I came from a low income family); they had all the "privilege" and "opportunity" in the world, but were still given preferential treatment, simply due to skin color.
It isnt really black people demanding this stuff. White left wingers are the movers behind this nonsense, using the black mouthpieces they have propped up in academia as cover, to push perspectives onto blacks with minimal resistance
I didn't know Carol Swain until I looked her up on Wikipedia:
Swain married at the age of sixteen and had two sons and one daughter. Her daughter died of sudden infant death syndrome. Upon being divorced five years later, Swain attempted to commit suicide by swallowing pills.
During this period she was a Jehovah's Witness. According to the Nashville Scene, "As a young girl, Swain became a devout Jehovah's Witness. At the time, many in that church believed that the world would end in 1975. Swain was among them. ..."In 1998 Swain was baptized into the Pentecostal faith after hearing an "internal voice" when she thought she was dying at a hospital. In 2017 Swain served as a Citizen's Committee member for the 43rd Annual Tennessee Prayer Breakfast and as a board member for the Nashville Youth for Christ. She is a Southern Baptist.
Swain was a Democrat before leaving the party around 2009 due to what she said was her Christian faith causing her to re-examine her worldview. In 2009, Swain became a Republican.
Yeah, I don't think I would trust this person's views. She sounds pretty unhinged.
I read the article, and didn't see her reference specifically that "affluent black kids are demanding lower standards".

"I take issue with it because it seems like we have gone backwards when it comes to race-relations, during my generation we wanted equal-opportunity, we wanted to be able to get into places to show what we could do, and now all of the sudden when we are so prosperous, when black people are in positions of power throughout our society, all of the sudden these affluent black kids are demanding lowered standards. And so it's a reversal. And the progressives, the white progressives who push it and go along with it are the true racists, they've always been racist."
This is typical isn't it? Trump tried to give people opportunity to people from all backgrounds to live their dreams but it wasn't for free. Trump knew that people were better off earning something than to be given a handout and he was beaten for it. The Democrats want to give everyone free college while lowering the standards for all across the board.
The Dems want affirmative action.
The country is getting lazy and more and more are looking for excuses to shirk their personal responsibilities and the Dems are allowing it.

EVERYONE knows that outcomes are better if you have some skin in the game. Because you are personally invested, you try harder to make it worth your while.
The fact that Trump inherited a lot of money, just like FDR did, doesn’t mean he isn’t aware of this basic fact.
