Eerily reminiscent of how life was under Nazi occupied Europe. This is what democrats want to do to America. They are even discussing making lists and building "reeducation" camps. Wake up folks. This is not a dream. It is not even a nightmare. This is your life, your country, and your freedom which is at stake.

Do you mean the Nazis ordered lockdowns and quarantines etc, to combat the spread of viruses?

I hadn't thought they were that concerned for the welfare of occupied countries, but maybe there was a softer side to the Nazis?

Europe was more strict than the US early on. And they are having more deaths than us now. Most of western Europe has more cumulative deaths.

Sweden who had virtually no restrictions has a death rate in the same range as France, Spain, Italy and the UK who were much stricter.

There seems to be little correlation. The strictest states in the US had the biggest death rates. States that had no lockdowns at all had the lowest rates. Now North Dakota and South Dakota have had a bad surge. It just seems like the virus is going everywhere. The only question is when.

Now New Zealand has a very low death rate, but they are an island.

And if they open up before everyone is vaccinated, they will be as bad as New York City. With limited immunity, it will spread like crazy.

The Nazis viewed the Jews the same way democrats view the current pandemic. The Nazis often talked about the Jews as being a plague. They did in fact "quarantine" the Jews in camps, not unlike the ones democrats have discussed locking Trump supporters in. Although some democrats are also critical of the Jews and perhaps view them the same way. Hard telling how far radicalized and far gone the left has become. They have been mutating more than COVID, and may be just as dangerous. I mean, they did order COVID patients in nursing homes, which is about as reckless and dangerous as it gets.

The intent of one's actions are not what counts in a court of law. It's the outcome that matters. The Nazis really did believe they were doing good for "their people", much like the democrats think they are helping when they ban dinning in, ban Christmas festivities, ban Thanksgiving gatherings, etc. As the saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Still a long way from state sanctioned mass killing and cremation.

Not really a fan of comparing the juggling act of attempting to control viruses, to the scale of mass murder the Nazis committed - it really ***** on the memory of all Nazi victims.

Those that do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. The Nazis didn't just start killing people. They had to earn the trust of "their people" first. After that, you know what happened next. It's a lesson on why people should be very careful when it comes to trusting big government overreach in our lives. Certainly there are other good examples throughout history, particularly in the past century when government achieved greater control over our day to day lives.

Those who use the wrong history for comparisons, are doomed to to be confused in their thoughts.

You might do a lot better to use appropriate history, such as the plague or Spanish flu.

Were people being ordered to present papers during the Spanish flu?

Probably not - could be why the death toll was so high?
