Doubtful. Europe locked down then surged after they reopened. The vaccine should help, but the notion that the rest of the world is doing better than the US is nonsense.

The situation in Europe and elsewhere, shows that these lockdowns are NOT partisan or political. They're universal. They're a universal kneejerk fear and cover-your-posterior policy. They are an intentional, willful trade-off of - liberties, economic vitality and personal dignity - for, ahem, saving lives.
I say this: even if billions were to die in the alternative, the lockdowns would STILL not be worth it.
But, the prevailing view around the world is otherwise. Even in functioning and robust democracies. Even in countries with vigorous constitutions and a historically deep sense of personal dignity. Worldwide, these are the choices that we being collectively made. This is the "humanity" that we've become. Enjoy.

Only to select folks like family members and you might be quarantined for weeks upon arrival. Individual states can go beyond the general national border protection.

It's a shame America isn't following what Lithuania is doing. I am sure their preventive measures will mean lives saved. Hopefully the next administration will take this deadly virus seriously and prohibit any sort of unnecessary travel without the proper documentation.
