Melbourne, Australia observed a strict lockdown and now they have been virus free for a few weeks and been able to have a normal holiday season. So saying that lockdowns don't work simply isn't an accurate statement.

I say this: even if billions were to die in the alternative, the lockdowns would STILL not be worth it.

But, the prevailing view around the world is otherwise. Even in functioning and robust democracies. Even in countries with vigorous constitutions and a historically deep sense of personal dignity. Worldwide, these are the choices that we being collectively made. This is the "humanity" that we've become. Enjoy.
Saving lives from the virus vs. killing people from missed health screenings, suicides and depression.

Sad to read you have no issue with billions dead so long as you can do what you want, when you want.

Now it's BILLIONS dead, according to the left

The tales get taller on down the line, I see...

Only to select folks like family members and you might be quarantined for weeks upon arrival. Individual states can go beyond the general national border protection.

I was referring to a particular region of Australia which has opened locally. In any case, the Australians don't want to import COVID19 cases from outside of their country.
