Ahh, more people who watched a bit too much sensationalized news coverage on Fox News are now pretending to be experts about my hometown. Let me remind you that nothing would have happened here had there not been a string of avoidable tragedies caused by police officers which culminated in the killing of George Floyd. If you really want to prevent civil unrest going forward then let’s talk about meaningful police reform.
so, help us out.
MPLS has been run by Dems for a while, yes?
The County? The Legislature? The Governor?
Clearly, a problem was identified with Philando Castile, yes?
So what should have happened that didn't? And why?
Actually, considering that police have encounters with 50 million people every year, many of them drug-impaired criminal thugs who are defying instructions, it is a testament to their restrain and judgment that a case like George Floyd is so exceedingly rare.
And here come the police apologies. We can do better than this. Please don’t shrug off all these police killings as acceptable casualties. That defeatist mentality is not how we progress as a society.

The police union should be disbanded first and foremost. Once they are out of the picture we can talk about meaningful reforms and the ability to hold police officers accountable for their actions. Why are conservatives defending the police union? I thought you guys hated labor unions....it makes no sense!
Go tell that to George Floyd’s family.
Go tell that to Justine Ruszczyk Damond‘s family.
Go tell that to Philando Castille’s family.
Go tell that to Jamar Clark’s family.
I’m guessing you have not studied these cases. Once you do you’ll have a better idea as to why there was civil unrest in Minneapolis this summer.
So you named four people, spread out over a number of years. During that time, police had interactions with about 200 million people, many of them violent, or high, or defiant. Or all three. Again, that there have been so few is a testament to how well these cops judge situations, often within a split-second, and choose the correct course of action.
And while you’re peeling off the names of a few people, what about the names of the hundreds of cops who have been KILLED in the line of duty by violent, or high, or defiant thugs?

Blm and antifa happened, they rioted, burned and looted.

I think you’re being totally unrealistic. When you are dealing with tens of millions of people - many of them criminals and violent - a few tragedies will occur. To eliminate ALL instances would require that police wait until the thug draws a weapon, points it at him, and ***** the trigger. That makes it very likely the cop will be killed. Why should we be so accepting of when thugs kill cops?
P.S. I see the word I used before trigger was cut out, but it’s an acceptable word. It has another low-class sexual meaning, but it’s also used in preparation for firing a weapon.
Google machiny thingy tells me crime was much higher in those 8 years than from 2012 - 2019.
Yes, a spike this past year but the fact remains crime was nearly 50% lower in Minnesota in 2018 than the last year of MTM throwing her hat in the air.

Minnesota overall can be a nice place to live. The problem is with the super-liberal Minneapolis and all their diversity nonsense.
Have you ever lived here? If so, feel free to share your opinion about your experience. If not, then your perspective probably isn’t worth much.
