I was addressing the poster who said $15 was enough to feed a family of 4.
Also I only eat Albacore tuna not the cat food stuff you can buy for a dollar.
The dollar tuna's probably got Chinese parasites and lead in it.
those figures are a joke anyway. and, as noted, the food index is up "only" 3.7%.
I literally laughed not only at the comment about "inedible" powdered mac n cheese, but the concept of not then actually making the same amount from 1/4 box of macaroni, a tablespoon of oil and flour, 2 cups of milk (or homemade broth) and 1/2 a $4 pack of cheese.
I demand my premium store-bought mac n cheese, and you need to give me $ to buy it!!!!
Laugh all you want but most Americans don't make Mac & Cheese from scratch (I can though) and that "powdered cheese stuff" is only edible if you're under 10 years old since they don't know the difference.
Every been to a supermarket Deli? There is always a line for prepared food.
Are you expecting most Americans to adjust their taste buds during a pandemic?
Food has become one of the few things most people can control in their lives so far for the past year.
Yeah thanks Moscow Mitch. Leader McConnell blocked the floor vote. Is he trying to lose Senate majority? Remember, Georgia's run-off is next week. He royally screwed the incumbent Republican Senators from the Peach State here.
How is it that a bill passed in the House of Representatives, oxymoron here, cannot get a vote in the Senate because the Majority Leader won't bring it up for consideration. It should be a requirement that all legislation from the House has to get an up or down vote. You don't have to approve it but you must vote on it. The Senate is the most undemocratic body in the Congress !
Unemployment is not the only people hurting. According to the last Census, 13m Americans have two jobs. My mom and I both have two jobs. We have seen horus cut. For her it isn't dire but for me it is. I lost roughly $1,200 in just August-now from lost wages in secondary income from other jobs. Going by your idea, I get hosed.
In the end of the day regardless of who gets what..the broke people will still be broke and people with savings will have more in savings and people that are rich will still be rich.
uh-oh, now it's self-proclaimed Trumpers agreeing with socialists
