False flag

Quote:
A statue of Breonna Taylor, an African-American woman who was shot dead by police during a raid on her home in March, has been smashed in California.

It happened two weeks after the bust was erected in the city of Oakland. Police have launched an investigation.

Sculptor Leo Carson called the destruction an act of "racist aggression". He said he would rebuild the piece in bronze.

Of course it's racist aggression... just like the removal of the other statues over the summer.

I'm wondering if the sculptor is unhappy with the original - the statue has the unfortunate property of looking as though it's carved from delicious milk chocolate, and possibly could make people salivate, rather than give consideration to the meaning of the work.

To play devil's advocate - don't statues and other pieces of ART belong in museums?
