Americans who truly need the $600, which I'll guess is the bottom 1/2, will do the following with it:

pay rent, most of which ultimately winds up at a bank, because your landlord likely has a mortgage/loan.

pay car payment, which winds up at a bank because the place you bought your car from was paid for it by the bank.

pay credit cards, most of which winds up at a bank.

So, the Federal government is taking away your future tax payments, & giving you ~20% of it, & most of that winds up at a bank.

Where does the other ~80% wind up? Pretty much the same.

They pretty much have to, or face the consequences of a hundred million or more retirees not collecting on their pensions in any meaningful way. Boom! Now you know.
