The police were right in this shooting but I doubt it will matter. If he didn’t point a gun and shoot he would be alive.

The guy pulled a gun and shot at police. He wound up dead. What's the problem?

My only question is, why do police who have done nothing wrong, have to put up with people shooting at them?

At least they don't have to put up with it for long.

--------------------------------------

From the linked article:

Quote:
The Minneapolis Police Department on Thursday released body camera footage of the shooting death of Dolal Idd, the first police killing since George Floyd died during an encounter with officers in May.
George Floyd wasn't a "police killing". He had taken a fatal dose of Fentanyl before the cops even showed up. One of the symptoms of a fatal OD of Fentanyl, is "acute shortness of breath".

Floyd was already complaining, "I can't breathe" long before the cops tried to put him in the cop car, long before they knelt on him. Kneeling on him changed nothing. He was already a Dead Man Walking.

The video showing Floyd saying "I can't breathe" before cops tried to put him in the car and before they knelt on him, was not released for a month after he died., though all the other videos appearing to show he wasn't breathing due to the cop kneeling on him, were. I wonder why the video showing that it wasn't the cops' fault he couldn't breathe, was withheld for so long?

Thugs in Minneapolis and elsewhere, rioted over nothing.

It doesn't matter to professional protesters. Here in Detroit, a criminal shot at a police over the summer and the police returned fire, killing the man. Crowds still gathered to protest and see if they could get away with any looting. Thankfully, the police presence prevented that from happening.

1) there have been some protestors but things have been relatively calm here fortunately.
2) the body cam footage released showed that the man fired at the police officers before they gunned him down. The general sentiment here is that the police officers responded properly, which was not the case with George Floyd.
