Seems as if medical professionals are hesitant to take an untested vaccine, developed in record time, with unproven, untested technology.
It has been tested. Did you somehow miss all the clinical trials? Perhaps if people like you wouldn't spread your misinformation more people would get it. It's like you wantpeople to get Covid.
There are lots of people deliberately spreading false info and scaring people into not taking it. Why is that? They must want them to get Covid. There is a ton of misinformation out there. Like in the op. I'm not sure why they are doing that. Must get some sort of sick benefit from it.
The healthcare workers have the same information, why would half the workers be taking it?
I believe those who work at long term care facilities have a high school diploma and about six weeks of training. Their knowledge base does not compare with that of those who have their advanced degrees in medicine.
What I cannot understand is how those who are knowledgeable in medicine would allow politics to influence their decision not to get a vaccination. That is cutting off one's nose to spite their face.

Yeah, those minor little bumps in the road could certainly cause one to hesitate...

However, I am wondering how many doctors and RNs are refusing (percentage). I think that would be more telling than just saying "health workers".
Someone will drop those data. Break out doctors and RNs too. And PAs, for that matter.

I work in a profession that, I'm assuming, will soon be pressured to get the injection. Possibly strong armed. I will find a new line of work first, even if it is cleaning toilets.
With toilets, at least you know what you're getting into.
This doesn't bother me at all, because ultimately what you choose to put in your body should be your decision and I think it's flat wrong to force someone take the vaccine. That being said, there are many people that are eager to do so, and so the injections that first wave eligible people refuse need to find their way into someone else's arm ASAP. No dithering because of a desire to hit certain groups first.
FWIW, my wife is an RN and works in the Covid ward at a local hospital. She was one of the first to get the vaccine and the only side effect was a sore arm for a day.
That said, everybody reacts differently, but the media seems to focus on the few that have negative side effects. They don't seem to tell you the percentage of those vaccinated that have had no effects from it.
If it wasn't safe, it wouldn't be out there, but it's every individual's right to make their own decision. I'll get it (being in a higher risk group) and have no qualms whatsoever. I hear the stories from the front line every day. Covid has a high recovery rate but it can be bad if you are unlucky enough to be in that group. I'd rather take my chances with a vaccine than be on a ventilator with a disease that could kill you.

That leaves more vaccine available for us older people who have much higher probability to die from CoVid.
The standard flu shot will put me down for a day. Shingrex put me down 2 days, each time. However, being down because your body is reacting to antibodies/mRNA is a whole lot different than cytokinesis storms. The synthetic opiod used for colonoscopy put me out for 4 days. I have a DNI directive.
Give me the vaccine if no one else wants to be ahead of me.
