Or had it been the Spartans in ancient Greece, and what about the Republic of Venice in the medieval?

The FF didn't invent it but they certainly set up something really special that the Democrats of late are intent on dismantling.

Oh well in the grand scheme of History America has had a good run but it is time for a collapse.

Had the founders of the United States really invented democracy?

Strange question.

I never once ever saw the claim that the Founding Fathers invented democracy, until this thread today.

PS: I do believe Athens was a true democracy, but I am unsure whether the Republic of Venice was. I don't know enough about it.

America -An attempted balance between level headed electoral voters and the mob called the public
France tried mob rule after they killed off the old rich white people -this period of France is called -the terror -anybody could be accused and executed with very little proof an accusation was sufficient
So much for democracy
BLM burned and looted my town in June nobody spoke French there except me but it felt like home

Who claims that the FF did?

What they did do is set up a unique form of government, wrote one of the greatest documents ever, and set the stage a great nation.

We are a constitutional Republic, not an actual Democracy.

The oldest constitutional republic is San Marino founded in 301. (Population is a little under 34,000.) http://www.sanmarino.sm/on-line/en/home.html

"constitutional republic" is a redundant phrase.
