Today's actions by this wretched mob - public servants and protesters alike - are acts of desperation akin to a dying person's last gasps for air.

Well done, oh good and faithful servants of Putin's Puppet.

This is not evolving, this is devolving into a lower life form.

There were some sensible republicans who spoke out like Toomey, Sasse and McConnell but the Cruz wing of the party belongs in a cave.

Any benefit accrued from thoughtful people being angry toward these protesters will quickly be squandered as media leftists reestablish themselves as the true extremists. Just now, I'm listening to the CBS Live News female anchor contemptuously interrupt her reporter with "and it's a WHITE MALE crowd". And her partner chimes in with "if there was even a hint of diversity in that crowd there would be an entirely different response". It's all about race baiting for these folks, they just can't help themselves.

The Republican Party has been a dead man walking for years due to clear trends in the demographics and their increasingly right wing politics. They know it and have taken an apocalyptic stance that if they can't have their way they would be willing to trash the constitution and the republic. Their approach to governance has fallen to obstruction and pillage. They have a "get it while we can" attitude of tax cuts for the rich, free-fall deficits, and wholesale abuse of our environment and natural resources. The GOP doesn't even bother having a platform.

There will be a middle/conservative party in the US, possibly in the guise or the name of the Republican Party and it will have some disjointed power and authority at the state and local level. It will take some time for whatever it is to gain prominence as a national party.
