What happened tonight is way beyond a protest. I can't believe some people are trying to present this as acceptable behavior. This is one of the worst days in the history of our country. A president initiating and supporting a mob attack on Congress as it counts the votes in a presidential election that he lost in an attempt to remain in office regardless of having lost. This is about as bad as it gets.
This is a coup attempt.

That’s not the topic.

Give it up. Just another liberal wet dream. Get out and get some fresh air! The liberals knowledge of the Constitution is extremely limited. I know, you saw it on Twitter. Do you know what a "twit" is? Look it up, you all need to learn to use the dictionary, Bill of Rights, and the Constitution!

Well none of those people are reading this thread so I don't know who you're referring to in your thread title.

The hypocrisy of the left has a peculiarly rancid stench tonight.

And what is the equivalency between the violence of the summer and a direct attack on our democracy to overturn an election? Supported by the President. That is a coup attempt.
No, I’m pointing out the liberal hypocrisy. And you see it as an attack on our democracy. I see the protests (the violence is never acceptable) as trying to retain our democracy and not allow a fraudulent election to seat the man who did not win, except for the massive cheating. And 79 million voters, including millions of Democrats, agree with me.

Storming the US Capitol is not the same as social justice protest (violent or otherwise). This is a false equivalence. Trump supporters should be ashamed. They empowered Trump for four years. They wanted to dispatch our democracy for a cult of personality.

This President just encouraged an attack on the US Capitol. And Trumpers still back the guy. Funny how Trump was all for prosecuting protesters when they damaged federal buildings. Then he encourages this. And yet suddenly Trumpers are ok with it. None of us are surprised.

The bigger problem here is that it is a race to the bottom. It is always about pointing the finger and whataboutism. Protesters damaging buildings and looting was terrible. And Democrats were forceful in their condemnation. However not the President. Not this time.

The "lefty rioters" did not directly attack our democracy. There is a night and day difference between the events of last summer and what transpired today.
