The genie is out of the bottle. We cannot and will not “just get along”. The values of the right and left are diametrically opposed to one another and even most folks who fall somewhere in the middle are forced to choose a side. Blame it on the media, on power obsessed politicians and corporations spreading lies and conspiracy theories, but Americans will never again be truly United. Our best hope is to coexist without killing one another.
Sounds like the grand experiment just ran out of steam and is over. Well, two hundred and fifty years isn't such a bad run, although that's only half as long as the Roman empire.
