Was watching NBC news earlier this evening and noticed they kept calling the actions in D.C. today "Riots". However, all year long since the George Floyd killing everything has been "Protests" in cities that saw burning and looting. Why can't the media call things what they really are? They've truly turned into propaganda outlets, haven't they?

These are not protestors. This is a mob disrespecting the sacred halls of our laws and institutions, and a slap in the face to our forefathers and all those who fought and died to give us the freedoms we have today. These people do not respect what America represents.

Despite my opposition against this stupidity, it has not gone unnoticed the differences in labeling the media has been doing, and they been going through great lengths to present as if everyone is rioting, whereas with BLM, etc, protests, they kept the constant narrative of "only a small group of trouble makers taking advantage of the protests".

Protestors don't invade the Capital with guns. There is no freedom that ever allowed an abuse of elected leaders and our government facilities like that. What we've seen instead is thugs attempting a rebellious insurrection. If this happened many decades ago, the traitors would have been lined up and executed.

No one is disputing that, what is being discussed is the labeling by the media. They label it "protests" for one thing, and label it "riots" for another. Sorry, they are riots, burning and looting are rioting, even if not 100% of the people there are doing it, just as this is rioting even though not 100% of the people there are doing it.

Pffft.

The rioters, burning and looting and destroying jobs and businesses this past summer, were not protesters either.

At least today's was "mostly peaceful." The thugs that caused damage today should be prosecuted. Just like the thugs of the past summer. Both groups will get away with their crimes.

And you can get off your high horse and stop pretending you care about the historical significance of the capital. You care nothing about history, including the founding of this country, or the constitution.

That's the first thing I noticed when I turned the "news" on. That was just before I turned it back off.

You're missing the point.

Yes, what that video shows is a mob rioting. And the news covered it as such. The point the OP is making is when the news shows BLM and Antifa doing the exact same behavior, they call it protesting.

Both sides have participated in despicable behavior that only serves to hurt the country and divide us further. Both sides should be called out for it.

I get your point, but I have heard one too many Trump supporters today calling what happened at the Capitol a "protest." I don't support the vandalism by members of BLM/Antifa, but Trump supporters took rioting to a completely different level today by storming the Capitol, disrupting a democratic process, and desecrating the heart of American democracy for 15 minutes of fame. The comparisons with BLM/Antifa are ridiculous.
