What some people in this thread are saying is that breaking into the Capitol building is insurrection but "BLM" attempting to break into the White House by climbing the fences and burning the guard building is not.
Neither the link to your news story nor you video say that anyone climbed over fences or burned a guard building.
Battling doesn't mean, "climbing over fences", or they simply would have said so. There one unidentified object burning in the video that looks like a dumpster. If it was a guard shack, surly one of your links would have identified it as such. So you have grossly characterized what happened.
They are simply a bunch of riotous teenagers. I'm not defending them, and they should be punished. But attempts to claim that was an insurrection comparable to Jan 6 is simply ludicrous.
Because no one was sure then if the Trumpettes would make another try at the Capitol or the White House!
Since their first failed and D.C. was still full of them, the anticipation of another attempt was quite reasonable.
How long is the government supposed to distrust traitors? When does any law enforcement agency supposed to know when the nation is safe from them once more? In a week? 2 weeks? A month?
If several thousand people tried to seize our leaders by force with the intent to kill them, how long should it be to say bygones are bygones, so please forget the threat ever happened?
You tell me.
Once someone threatens my life, I know I'll take it very seriously until I know that person won't ever present a threat again.
If that number of people had wanted to kill anyone, they had the numbers to kill everyone in the entire Capitol.
Also, if they had wanted to REALLY hang Mike Pence, they would have been unstoppable for the same reason.
10 years prison for trespassing and destruction of government property?
Threatening the lives of elected officials is worth at least 10years. Trespassing is when you go into someone`s yard to find your errant golf ball. Trespassers don`t carry zip ties and pepper spray.
