...
Hometown? He was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1970. Why would Canadians care one way or the other about Rafael? See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Cruz for details.

He should be removed from office solely for his disgusting display of obsequiousness.
Sticks and stones.

That’s the problem with the majority of politicians. We need term limits

You overuse the word "cancel". You had better start rationing, it is losing its meaning. It is like calling all non-trumpies socialists or communists. After a while your words lose their punch.
Cruz is not being canceled. He is simply being outed for the douche that he is.

Where you’re born may be where the doctor has privileges at the hospital, the closest hospital that is covered best by your insurance plan, etc. That doesn’t make that city the person’s hometown. I was born in Oakland, CA. Once out of the hospital, except for one weekend a month after my parents divorced when my dad happened to live in Oakland, I’ve never spent another night in Oakland. Oakland isn’t my hometown.

Cruz did was legally allowed and was as much as getting a true investigation started and stuff on the record. Democrat Barbra Boxer did something similar in 2004 objecting the G Bush's presidential win.

The public has been groomed by most professional politicians that one should not use administrative maneuvers like this because they don't want to be on the recieving end of them one day. And they do not want the public and government sanctioned process for which they are part of. They won't look at as good

The insurrectionist inciter is no dummy either but made a grave mistake which will cost him...and he went to Ivy league Princeton for Undergraduate studies and Harvard Law School too?!

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is drowning in hometown backlash after stoking a violent coup attempt at the U.S. Capitol as yet another Texas newspaper is now calling for his removal from the Senate.

On Saturday, the San Antonio Express-News called for Donald Trump to be impeached and Cruz to face expulsion after Wednesday’s attack in D.C.

During the 2016 Republican primary, Ted Cruz called Donald Trump a “sniveling coward” after he attacked his wife, Heidi Cruz. In the past, the Texas senator has also called Trump “utterly amoral” and a “pathological liar.”

But once Trump took office, it didn’t take long for Cruz to hitch his wagon to the president and pledge his allegiance to the MAGA flag.

The Texas senator’s decision to go all in for Trump culminated this week in a violent attack carried out by MAGA insurrectionists – an attack inspired by Cruz, Trump, and other GOP lawmakers like Josh Hawley.

Ted Cruz made a bet that attaching himself at the hip with Donald Trump – even in the midst of an attack at the U.S. Capitol – would benefit his future in Republican politics.

With five people dead and D.C. still reeling from this week’s MAGA attack, it doesn’t look like Ted Cruz’s bet is paying off.
I didn’t know the media is running our life now. I guess I must fall in line.

Unless the editorial board of the leading newspaper in a city has called on you to do something, I think you're probably in the clear for now.
