So to me, the most hardcore Trump supporters generally are very concerned about free speech as one of their God given rights. Banning them on public forums is going to be construed by them as a banning of their 1st amendment and going to have a bad outcome in my opinion.

I feel that this is like poking a hornets nest as is going to galvanize their militias into taking more action against the government, silicone valley, and snowflakes.

Anyone else worried about this or am is being a little over-dramatic?

Mass institutional censorship rarely ends well.

They have assumed a moral voice and are doing "the great purge" based on their rules for harmful behavior

https://techcrunch.com/2021/01/08/tw...n-ron-watkins/

They've already banned over 7000 accounts that shared Qanon content.

They're doing what they can to prevent a massive uprising.

Sometimes, you have to use measures you wouldn't ordinarily use - like grounding all the US planes on 9/11, declaring curfews in hurricane ravaged areas, etc.

That's what they're doing. Turning off the information/communication venues of a very very dangerous movement.

Chairman of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Xi Jinping is surely smiling and nodding his approval.

What movement is that ?

They deleted over 7000 accounts of people just posting Qanon content which has nothing to do with this "massive uprising movement".

Honestly I'm more scared of the BLM who don't care what they loot, pillage and burn as they rage throughout cities.

These other folks are just going for the corrupt politicians (which I consider all of them)

What does this have to do with the 1st amendment? Private institutions can do whatever they want. Liberals hate this but we have something called freedom in this country.

... and in doing so, they are making a massive uprising that much more likely. The more you try to keep people from being heard, the greater the lengths they'll go to be heard. Free speech is an essential safety valve for a civil society. Screw that valve shut at your own peril.

It's becoming depressingly evident day after day we've forgotten how to be a free people.

Right, and then watch the authoritarian technocrats cut off access to it.
