That was Norway. I am talking about right here in the US of A. I'm talking about what my grandparents and great grandparents went through. They were not immigrants. They were the descendants of slaves and still living in the South (my paternal grandparents became part of the 2nd wave of the Great Migration).
You mentioned that you envy your grandparents and great grandparents time. I can't envy my grandparents and great-grandparents. Some of us don't have that nostalgia because of who we are and what would have happened to us.
I know what happened to Native Americans and that was a tragedy as well. I don't think many Native Americans would envy the days when that stuff was happening.

OP is another high school dropout that never learned definition of actual socialism. Democratic Socialism works fine in Nordic countries. It doesnt work in banana republics with president for life. No such thing as democratic socialism.. only in the minds of those that are brainwashed . Fact is it is socialism.. even those countries that adopted free healthcare have a much smaller paycheck, smaller living space and harder to own a car because of the high taxation . It is mandating taking your paycheck to pay for others including illegals coming for the feebies given by our government that Biden will support.

This is the deal. You had a mob of people committing an act of sedition. I don't consider those people individuals who were fighting for liberty. Trump lost, time to move on. I'm not much of a Biden person (I voted 3rd party, like I did back in 2016). However, when Trump won, I didn't go out and riot. I didn't go crazy. I wasn't happy, but I got up and moved on. What I'm seeing right now is sedition and stupidity. That was sedition. And the fact that there were people flying Confederate flags, wearing pro-Holocaust t-shirts and displaying other stuff with hate symbols on it, that tells me that this was some hateful mob trying to commit sedition.
What do you expect me to think when there are a bunch of people flying Confederate flag, wearing stuff with hate symbols on it, and people storming to Capitol to stop the certification of electoral votes?
I didn't "have" anybody doing anything. I'm not a military commander of any sort. As I said, I don't care about Trump.
What I care about is preserving individual liberty in a nation that was supposedly founded upon that principle. That being the case I am AGAINST anyone who would deprive me or anyone else of that right. Thus, I am against Biden/Harris because that is their (at least Harris') stated goal. She's a professed socialist--thus I oppose her policies. Trump was not a professed socialist nor had he any intent to restrict individual liberty. In fact he passed several laws that eliminated certain forms of tyranny. Thus I did not oppose his policies.
I don't SUPPORT much of anyone in the federal government because I don't believe the federal government should even be there in the form it is at this point. So, no, I didn't "support" Trump. And I didn't "not support" Trump. I did approve of most his policies and most of his actions as president, though.
The problem with you folks is that you look to the president as some sort of king. I don't. I look at him as an employee of mine who is either performing his duties properly or he is not. I don't "support" employees. I critique their performance and base my opinions on that critique.

This is true. What they refer to as "democratic socialism" is simply capitalism with abnormally high tax rates and a few freebies to keep the pitchforks and torches at bay.
