Nevertheless, socialism in democratic countries is just a marketing strategy for getting into power on the way to totalitarianism. Orwell may have fantasized about the socialist utopias, but the dystopia that he wrote about in his most famous work is where this invariably leads.
As the American Democrat left is demonstrating this for all to see in our country and the world, one more time, for those who were not convinced by the ultimate end of the promised "socialist utopia's" promised in Communist Russia, Nazi Germany and Maoist China during the last century.
Never has more senseless terror and loss of life been rendered by the hands of man. But if anyone can top them, the American Democrat (socialist) left unfortunately appears to be very much up to the task.
Is anyone really surprised to see George Orwell's book "1984" tracking as the #1 selling book on Amazon? I hope not. What the leftists are doing right now is Orwellian and worse. If anyone wondered what it must have felt like in Russia during the early days of the Russian revolution, or during the 1930's in Germany as the Nazis implemented their intolerant purge of any dissenting voices, no need to speculate any longer. Surely we are adding our own chapter to that infamous list and we are all living through it right now.
In fact, 1984 is out of copyright, so anyone who wants to can read it for free. Here is a link to a website where you can download it and read 1984 (and a long list of other famous books that are out of copyright) for free on your smartphone, your tablet, your ereader, or your computer. I am partial to the "epub" format, but it is also available in other formats.

What he showed us in 1984 is eerily similar to what the Democrat left and their corporate supporters are imposing on us right now. Regardless of what political philosophy he wanted to associate the outcomes of 1984 with, it is clearly your side that produces these outcomes.
