What is really happening?

Some tech companies are policing hate and potentially violent speech on their platforms, that's what's really happening. And contrary to the OP's claim about "Orwellian" this and that, it has nothing to do with the government. In 1984 it was the government of Oceana that was muzzling free speech. That is not the case here.

Wonder if this will register with them at all.

Also it proves alot of people quote Orwell without actually reading his books.

We watched a summer of "peaceful" protests with buildings on fire and widespread violence. I remember the video of the group of people beating the old couple in the street with wood boards and the media telling us it was peaceful. I guess the skin color of the participants determines what is now peaceful or violent. It's newspeak.

Certain words are no longer able to be used, new words have been invented, not as a natural part of the language, but as a way to control what people think.

No doubt there is one group trying to control the 1st Amendment. Big Tech set up a pathway of communication that becomes the primary way people across the country communicate and then they restrict the communication to only political opinions they agree with. How they did it was legal, but certainly not moral.

I just listened to the Jocko podcast where he does a recap of 1984. He doesn't mention much about current events or specifics from the news, he just allows you to connect the dots.
