The problem I have nowadays with the republicans is when are they going to move past crazy? Don't you get tired of believing conspiracy theories that do not end up being true? Today, I look at the doctored images of the Trump supporters fixed to look like Antifa. Its just maddening. Couple that with all the youtube videos and BS about Covid over the summer to the election (not so) mess.

I want to inform you our government is not nearly as smart or as sophisticated to do the things you think they are doing. Example: I read on a Florida TV news station site that federal and state rollout of the COVID vaccine is a disaster right now. You honestly think for people that can't even do this, yet they stole several elections, which probably would go down as the biggest scandal in the history of our country? Seriously?

This is not the conservatives of the Ronald Regan era. Today's conservatives seem to be so hell bent on trying to create every conspiracy theory. Get away from crazy conservatives. You will never win the way you are going.

Please do not write off these Conservatives. They are still alive and still have power.
They put God ,Family and Nation as the highest of priorities. Silent is not defined as being dead.

I can't vote Democrat because of my principles.
Murdering innocent, healthy children (in the womb) is disgusting, sinful, and evil, period.

If you're not happy with Republicans, then just don't vote.
Switching your vote and supporting Democrat abortionists is extremely unchristian and you'll have to answer to God for that.
What will you tell God when you voted for politicians who support the murder of babies in the womb?
What excuses will you have?

Over the years, I've taken on this mentality. I vote based on what is best for me first. I think "how does this affect me". It seems selfish. And to an extent, you would be right. However, I think about this. My neighbor isn't thinking about me when at the voting polls. Said person is thinking about how they are and how they think when voting. I have to consider what is best for me, and what will help me when I vote. One of the reasons I don't identify with a particular political party anymore. I flirted with conservatism for a brief period in my life. I found it wasn't helpful for me. I have grown more individualistic in how I vote. One of the reasons I voted Libertarian, TWICE.

How would you explain the relative quiet of the compassionate conservative and the rise of Trumpism? I have to think about this because for those who are loudly loyal to Trump, there are also some conservatives who don't like Trump.

That’s akin to “I didn’t like the atrocity the allies have been doing, so I joined Hitler to exterminate Jews.â€

It's really concerning to see how many Republican leaders have bought into QAnon, and others that are blurring the lines between separation of church and state. Moderate Republicans need to form a third centrist party based on economics, strategic global alliances, and personal liberty...basically what they were about 40 years ago. And in my ideal world, they would focus on 1) eliminating government waste, including unnecessary subsidies, 2) support sensible regulation in finance, trade, and the environment, 3) reform healthcare and social security, 4) strengthen consumer protections and beef up the SEC, 5) revert back to a tax structure the US had 50+ years ago to help rebuild our infrastructure and education system. No "socialism"....just reasonable policy and taxes that keep us competitive and growing while strengthening all spectrums of society.
This sounds like my father, a Long Island Rockefeller Republican. He didn't like defund the police until I explained it to him that it is because the police get money that cannot go to mental health resources.

Not trying to boast or anything but I've been a Centrist and Independent Voter before it was cool.

Mind you, I'm only 28 years old but I have always been politically minded since I was a teenager because I grew up with a mother who's fiscally Liberal and socially conservative/religious and father who's politically/fiscally Conservative and socially liberal and they both had joint custody over me growing up. So, you can say it was simply ingrained in me to not have a full-fledged allegiance towards either party.

I think the biggest issue with the GOP today is that there's no longer any invariable principles to be found in the party today. Mind you, I wouldn't say the Democrats are principled either. Neither are tbh. But it's very odd seeing Conservatives on social media rally around ANYONE who supports Trump or claims to be anti-Liberal or anti-BLM.

Candace Owens is a perfect example. She loves to flip the "Dems/Blacks don't like Black Conservatives" sympathy card to garner support and money from (mostly White) Conservatives to speak at Prager U and sell her books on top of other things but anyone who's done a background check on her can see that she's either a fraud or, at best, a clout chasing social media star.

She and Tomi Lahren are literally the GOP equivalent of Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner but many can't see that and will rally around them due to their talking points and alleged stances on political/social issues while complaining about the Hollywood/celebrity culture that's presumably associated with Liberals.

And, before you think my assumptions are totally unfounded, check this out:

https://www.insidehook.com/daily_bri...eaning-website

https://newsone.com/3848636/candace-...ts-con-artist/

But a lot of Conservatives today think if a celebrity or person in general starts coming out of the blue shouting "Huur Duurp...Dems bad! GOP good! Blue Lives Matter! Liberals are the real racists! Trump is always right! People don't like me because I'm a *sans* Conservative! Huur Duurp!" that they're automatically allies or useful supporters for the GOP.

And yes...Democrats are very similar but it's still not a good look for a party that prides itself on being more principled.

Unfortunately, celebrity culture, cult of personality, NFL/WWE style partisan affiliation, and social media(including this very website) have pervaded all aspects of politics today which I why I still wouldn't rule out the possibility of Kanye West securing the GOP(or 3rd Party) nomination in 2024 as a candidate.

But that's the state of politics today. Might as well get out the buttered popcorn and pray that the economy doesn't get too bad under the bread and circus that defines American politics today.

Maybe there should be a 12-step program for recovering political addicts.

Gonna ditch the republican party and go the non-party affiliated route if they want to keep standing behind establishment neocons like W Bush, McCain, Romney, etc...
