The last three presidential elections basically shows us the economy means nothing anymore like it used to. Obama won with a bad one, Hillary lost with a sharply improving one, and Trump lost with a good one given the circumstances. I think this makes it much much harder for future candidates to win consecutive terms from here on in

As the country gets weaker and the young soy boy types and blue haired women, not to mention women on hormone with beards take over, I would say the Republican Party would have to change a lot. The young people are WAY more needy and want handouts/participation trophies and we will be more socialist and then move to a full on dictatorship. Our great country is going to fall, but Boomers and Z's are letting it happen. School systems are full on socialist machines and schools treat all kids as they are equal now. Um, they aren't. It is now a bad thing to be successful and make money. Sure is different than the great days only a few decades ago. Wow.

Shame what happened, but no stopping it. Just hang around young people for a bit and you will see how weak they are. They want help, don't like older tough people, have no respect and really just look for any handouts they can get without any thank you. Different times.

That's not it, it's that opportunities have been drying up for the masses, mainly as private sector trade unions have been decimated

Strong trade unions will accelerate the destruction of jobs in the US. I'm so glad we have our money safe from the greed and envy crazed stoked by populism.

Funny how both sides like to play victim when it suits them. It's pathetic.

Yeah dictatorships have literally never happened in the way you say it will in this country. Pure fantasy.

It will all depend which direction the GOP party decides to go. They could either decide to double down on the Trump direction of nationalism, populism and isolationism (Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, etc.) or they could shift back to the more sympathetic Reagan direction of small government and family values (Mitt Romney, John Kasich, Jeff Flake).

If they go the Trump path they will crash and burn. That base is dwindling and will not attract moderates, independents or suburban/educated whites.

If they go the back to the GOP of old path they have a future. I haven’t voted for a Republican for president since 2000 but I’d strongly consider a candidate like Jeff Flake if he were to run in 2024.

Many of these posts are laughable. After what the republicans have done, and continue to do, the democratic party is now rock solid. The next president will be Kamala Harris. You better get use to the idea that your next president will be a black woman.

During the last election HRC won by more than 3 million votes and yet was defeated by the electoral votes. If ever an election had the stink of corruption it was this one. The republicans did what they always do when the outcome benefits them....nothing. Now that Biden has won bother popular and electoral votes they scream foul.

BTW, just what have the republicans done for you? More unemployment, higher cost of living, but the wealthy reaping billions of dollars. Yet you still vote them in???

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Republican voters just don't get it.
I also think it's more that they thought tRump was the best president ever, so they actually thought he was unbeatable
Absolutely they did, and of course Trump. They all had a one track mind, and that is making it so hard to accept defeat. A divisive figure will turn out huge crowds against you, as much as turning out the ones in favor of you.
