So, they killed Parler. But guess what? Now people are downloading Signal and Telegram. End-to-end encryption.
Now the Secret Service is concerned because they can't readily identify any growing threats if the chatter is ENCRYPTED.

Backlash from the larger social media and web hosting companies to the Jan. 6 insurrection has had a disruptive effect on planning for right-wing demonstrations, the bulletin found. But that also has the effect of limiting the Secret Service’s “ability to review information for… situational awareness on these events,” it concedes. Users frustrated by the shutdown of Parler and the de-platforming of many Twitter users are moving to the secure messaging apps Telegraph and Signal, the Secret Service bulletin states.

Great job Apple, Google, and Amazon. At least these people were out in the open on Parler. Identifiable. Now their chatter is encrypted.
These companies are being run by young people with knee jerk reactions. They only play shoot-em-up video games, not chess. They can't see three or four moves ahead. "Hmmm. If we kick them off our platforms, there are other more secure platforms they can move too. They may limit police investigations and puts us in a position to consider other social media shutdowns." Doh!
So, is Apple and Google going to kill Signal and Telegram too? That could get messy.

More than 100,000 users installed Signal across the app stores of Apple and Google in the last two days, while Telegram picked up nearly 2.2 million downloads, according to data analytics firm Sensor Tower.
