Im assuming most people celebrate 4th of July every year...
If so, you are celebrating a violent overthrow of a standing govt.
its interesting to note, at the time of the American Revolution, only about 1/3 of the colonists supported breaking away from England, 1/3 wanted to remain obedient to England, (the other 1/3 didnt care either way)...
But the American Revolution went down in history as a 'good thing', our kids are taught it was patriotic and that we should be proud of this.
There are many similarities to current events if you look at the facts
So history is repeating b/c something was learned from it !!! That's not what we have been traditionally told !!!
Correct me if I'm wrong but the saying was, history is repeated when people don't learn from it !!!
You're gonna be shocked by this, but I don't disagree with you.
The elephant in the room whenever there is a "what about" debate is that each side sees themselves as the good guys and it's okay when the good guys do it.
In the American Revolution the colonies were the good guys. They saw themselves as such and because they won, so do we.
I have no doubt that the people who stormed the capitol on January 6 thought their cause was just and that they were doing the right thing. And if they had succeeded who knows - a hundred years from now 1/6 would be a holiday too.
I think we are cherrypicking facts and completely, I mean completely glossing over the bigger picture.
Please explain.
The very definition of hypocrisy is...people speaking out AGAINST 'violence in politics'...when their OWN NATION was founded due to 'violence in politics'!!
Well, technically YES, England no longer controls (or rules over) America.
the AMERICAN REVOLUTION was successful...and it is celebrated.
The American Revolution was when a group of colonists, who were on the North American continent as a business venture for England, took it and made it their own and not a business colony for England.
They didn't over throw England. England remained intact.
You're gonna be shocked by this, but I don't disagree with you.

Only about a 1/3 of the colonists supported breaking free from England, The 'Tories' wanted to remain loyal to England, the other 1/3 didnt care...
What happened to all the 'Tories' after America won? Did they just give up and agree, that they were wrong?

One explanation :
Looks to me like politicians are just trying to protect their power and trying to convince people to go along with it like sheep !!!
The same reason they went after the outsider President Trump for his entire term !!!
So you're comparing "a long train of abuses and usurpations" to "we lost an election and are suffering from butt hurt"?
Not gonna fly.
Check the sky !!!
It has to start someplace and the democrats had four years of butt hurt and now want revenge !!!
