Nobody likes being told what to do. We only want government in our lives when its convenient for us.

I don't spew contempt for people eating at restaurants. For some it's a pasttime. If my favorite pasttime got taken away from me I would be sad about it too. But I would go find something else to do.

What you're saying has no relevance to my question. If lockdowns aren't any better than voluntary measures, why were businesses closed for almost a year?
