Nice, point by point dissection of why Pelosi's impeachment show was a farce.

"...One, impeachment was never intended by the founders to become a serial effort to weaken a first-term president. But this latest try will mark the third failed attempt of Democrats in Congress to remove Trump before his allotted tenure....

Two, the country is wracked by a pandemic, recession, a summer of Black Lives Matter and Antifa looting, arson, and violence, and the recent rogue group of Trump supporters storming the Capitol. Washington, D.C. is now militarized in a way not seen since the Civil War. Over 20,000 troops patrol the streets.

Thousands are dying from COVID-19. Politics and incompetence at the state level slow down the widespread vaccination of the vulnerable....

Three, the rushed third impeachment attempt was even sloppier than the first two. There was neither an appointment of a special counsel nor a formal case presented for illegal or improper presidential behavior. Trump’s advocates had no time to present a legal or political refutation of “incitement.”

There was no real debate, just for-show stump speeches in a rushed spasm of hatred—a circus entirely contrary to the Founders’ notion of a solemn and rare procedure....

Four, only those without the prior sin of revving up partisans should cast the first stone.

Many of the supporters of this current impeachment would themselves be impeached under their own vague definitions of “incitement” they now apply to Trump.

In March, then-Senate Minority leader Charles Schumer (R-N.Y.) riled up an angry crowd of pro-abortion protestors at the very doors of the Supreme Court—while it was in session.

To a wild crowd, he threatened individual Justices Kavanaugh and Gorsuch by name: “You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you . . .....""

<article goes on to show how Pelosi, Harris and Biden should also be impeached for incitement>

"...Five, the country is dangerously divided....

Pelosi changed the rules.."snap impeachment" because the current process would have taken too long.

And who in Congress is going to argue with her ?

It's moot anyway since the Senate is not going to do anything between now and 1/20. After that..Trump is a private citizen and per our Constitution we don't impeach private citizens.

Pelosi just couldn't let it go. She had to give Trump one more punch to the gut.

I was talking with a friend today and he is a Democrat. We usually try to avoid politics because he knows I like Trump but we had a good talk. He thinks Pelosi did the right thing in impeaching because Trump incited the mob to attack the Capital. He said that there were people in the mob that were going to kill and hang Pence. He thinks Trump should be smacked down and never be allowed to see the light of day because he is such a terrible man. He also thought that censoring him off Twitter was a good move because now we are all not so stressed. I don't know.

I think Trump should be allowed to exit the WH. Impeaching him again is nothing but a power play and one final smear on him.

It was a farce, but not to get Trump out of office. It was done to enrage his diehard supporters so that in 2022 they will split the Republican vote in many House races, allowing the Democrats to gain seats. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is some new Patriot party formed over the next few weeks.

Democrats fear him. It took 5 years of constant propaganda to convince just enough people to vote against the person they framed as “Hitler”.

Historians will love analyzing the current period of American history.

Or you know....Trump could've just accepted reality like a big boy and NOT held a Save America rally to spur his troglodytes to "Be Strong", "Never Show Weakness" and "“Because you’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong....", spurring them into a rage fueled act of sedition based on NO proof of a fantasy invented to keep his feelings from being hurt by those mean, old facts.

Just saying.....if you don't like the way justice is done to criminals, the answer is DON'T BECOME A CRIMINAL.

I dislike Nancy, but he needed to be hit with this lesson hard and fast, because he's dumb enough to think that if they waited, it wasn't that bad so he could do it again.

A snap impeachment that mimics a snap SCOTUS appointment. Hmm

Pelosi didn't follow the rule of law regarding the impeachment process and no one called her out on it...no one.
No hearing, no witness, no defense, nothing.

That is a kangaroo court scene. Does the Constitution mean nothing anymore especially when Congress tosses it to the side in favor of pure political vengeance.

This is the answer. I'm indifferent to Pelosi's actions, quite frankly. He's on his way out so whether he is impeached or not has no bearing on the running of the country or any of our lives here.

If he hadn't started with the false "fraud" narrative in the summer (let's face it, it goes back to 2016 but he ramped it up again in the summer) and had accepted the outcome of the election, none of this would have happened.

A small group of people, fueled by his "fraud" charges, acted inappropriately and here we are. Quite frankly I'm not sure why anyone is making a big deal of the impeachment, but it's not surprising.

She made up new rules and didn't follow the way justice is supposed to be done.
