This is the type of thing Biden supporters like to see. People and companies should not PROFIT from people who are in prison. That's just twisted.

Great. I'm glad he did that, and I said so at the time. So do you think further reform is unnecessary?

Good decision...private companies should never be running prisons.

Did anyone get the reaction from victims of criminal violence about how they feel about this issue?

As long as crimes are committed in the US, there will be a need for some sort of punishment. Joe's not gonna executive order prisons into extinction. Now some will argue that a government run prison is less dehumanizing than a privately run prison.

At the end of the day, prisoners will need to be overseen by guards. Not sure how this move tackles the issue of systemic racism or how racism is even a factor in the prison system. A prison sentence is a consequence of criminal behavior. You can argue that police and prosecutors use racism to convict people. The prison itself has no bearing on the racist act(s) that may have occurred prior to a plea agreement of a conviction.

In the end not 1 person will be released from jail because prison contracts not being renewed.

Good. Private prisons are amongst the worst. Glad to hear they won't be getting federal tax dollars any longer.

I'm looking forward to rapists, pedophiles, and murderers roaming the nation with impunity. You know, guys like Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer. Maybe a Manson or two.
