They are not known for being in lockstep like the democrats so there is little chance that will change !!!
Out of power due to their own foolishness I say the chances are slim to none putting a check on China Joe's admin.
The chance of the GOP elite growing a backbone is essentially zero. Wouldn't matter anyway, they are the minority now (thanks to their stupidity) and irrelevant. Of course, they haven't been relevant in a very long time anyway because even when they have the helm, they always seem to manage to run the ship aground. They are nearly as nauseating as the left.

Its long past time for statesmen to reform an anti federalist party. Neither parties represent the people. The U.S government was meant to be in service of the people, not an supreme authority of the people.

That would be great. At this point, the power of the federal government needs to be diminished by about 95% and the power of the state governments increased significantly in certain regards.

One such individual advocating for the formation of a third party is Dustin Stockton so there are some rumblings but its not making any real headway, yet !!! As I've said before, without the America First movement the GOP doesn't stand a chance of winning a national election !!!
The GOP is an even bigger embarrassment than the democrat party. At least the democratic party fights for what they believe in. Even if you don't agree with what they have to say, at least they have the balls to stand up and say it, and fight for their beliefs if necessary. The GOP is mostly filled with cowards who would rather focus on advancing their careers at the expense of their principles and beliefs. They are too afraid to stand for anything that might upset their democrat counterparts. Our founding fathers would be disgusted and ashamed with the modern day GOP.
Democrats could begin rounding up Trump supporters and putting them in "re reducation" camps, and the GOP will absolutely help them, if it will advance their careers and increase the power of the government.

I'm more disgusted with the GOP than the dems for the same reason you expressed !!!
Something needs to change with the GOP and the two obvious are :
1) reorganization and that would have to include new blood and new and better strategist
2) third party, with no democrat wantabes
