No they are not a female because they want to be. Trust me on this.. Or as some say.
Trust the science, trust biology, trust medical evidence & physical evidence.
Identifying does not change who or what you are. It changes how you act & look. They'll need physical surgeries to become a "true" woman and they know it. Bruce Jenner is "not" a real woman and may not ever be a female without the surgeries.
A new driver's license, what people call you, what you wear, what bathroom you are allowed to use does not change your true gender. An SRS procedure will. Modern man and woman have existed for 200,000 years. Genders aren't changing suddenly in the last 15 years because we were too stupid for the last 199,985 years.
A transgender with male genitals who identifies as a woman is still a male. No matter how convincingly pretty they look as a woman, their internal organs are still male period. Their lungs,their kidneys, their heart capacity, and more.
We've all seen replica Lamborghini or Ferrari sports cars with the insides of a Hyundai or Pinto. It is still a Hyundai or pinto.
Some people can identify as brain surgeon should they be allowed to operate on your brain?
Why do they need to pass medical school if they believe it and have done it several times without a license?
I think the real debate are transgenders, formerly called transsexuals, who live and convincingly look like a female are forced to use a men's room could be raped. That's a problem but there really is no debate because those transgenders have used women's bathrooms ever since they looked like females.
What the public doesn't want are regular guys or gay males identifying as a woman just strolling into a female restroom/locker room or competing in women's sports.

If they identify as a female, then they are a female. There are laws against harassment. No one has a right to be voyeuristic or harass anyone. So your daughters will be protected by the current laws.
Criminals don't follow laws, sorry for the breaking news. And last I checked there's no criminal background check before becoming trans.
And I assure you, you and your daughters don't want to be sharing the bathroom and locker room with grown men.
1. Men are nasty and messy, just look at any men's public restroom that ever existed.
2. Older men walk around naked in locker rooms, again, ask any man here.
3. Men are very social in locker rooms
4. Aroused men in locker rooms won't be something you want to see
5. Men are smelly, last thing you want is us in your rooms
I encourage you to walk into your local men's public bathroom, observe the pure disgust and smells, and judge for yourself if this is something you want women to experience daily.

There have already been multiple cases of men dressing up as women so they can enter women's restrooms & locker rooms to rape them. I wonder if women willingly agree with these policies?

We have a transgender friend that is going from male to female. Look, I admit, it's an adjustment. It's the death of who we knew as him for years to the birth of her in one sentence. We did not turn our backs on her because she spent a lifetime trapped in the wrong body. We embraced her because she is still the same good person she was when we knew her as him.
I would gladly share a bathroom with her. No problem.
I feel very sorry for her. The lack of understanding for someone so different sparks hate and contempt. It's unfortunate. It's who we are on the inside that should matter.
So if a man wants to rape a woman in a bathroom, you think wearing a dress is going to change everything. I don't think so. They don't need to dress like a woman to do that, and we don't punish the whole on a what if.
They cry “follow the science” when it comes to climate and covid, but are silent when science says there is only two genders and a few people with gender dysphoria.

Who would want to have Caitlin Jenner competing against their daughter in a high school or college decathlon event just because she wanted to be a girl?
I think he bakes at the wrong tree. It is because I believe no man will turn into a raper because of this rule. However, it will make the predators more easies to gain access to the women’s facilities, and some women may find it uncomfortable to access those facilities. Hey, always be optimistic and look for the siliver-lining. Now, you can go to the same facilities as your wife or daughts.
