How come we're the only country that's NOT supposed to exert any control over our borders?
Many within the left (not the "foot soldiers" - BLM or Antifa or everyday Americans who lean left) see the massive influx of impoverished foreigners from poor countries as political gold. These people are generally unskilled and many times illiterate; Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, Apple, Microsoft, Exxon, Dell, and Bank of America won't be hiring them for analyst, vice-president, head of sales, managing director etc. positions.
They therefore will rely heavily on government subsidies - and knowing this, the left's elected officials make promises of delivering such subsidies. Whom will these illegal aliens, once they somehow attain citizenship and vote, cast their votes for?

When you come from a third world county to the US where the government will feed you, house you and give you money to spend each month .....that is the new definition of a "loyal citizen".
Illegal immigration is a subject I've studied a bit of, and while there's always more to learn, I did take a look at the policy and practice of some other countries. By comparison, the U.S. system is tremendously generous. I've spoken to legally present foreigners who due to a variety of factors are unaware of the situation in America. When I tell them specifics, they are stunned, and say their home countries would never put up with what America is dealing with, and that their compatriots in their native lands would be up in arms if illegals did what they do here and get away with.
I also do wonder. For a while now, the radical left has been denouncing America: its history is racist, slavery, genocide against Native Americans, they chant "I am living on stolen land!"
Yet they also favor massive illegal immigration, amnesties, open borders, and oppose ICE.
If America is so bigoted why do they want nonwhites from Central and South America, Africa, and wherever else to be able to come here? Shouldn't they be telling them, "stay the hell away; if you're not white, this is a dangerous place!!!!"?
It is not really a high bar to be morally superior to folks who think putting children in cages is perfectly OK. Or folks who make up bizarre conspiracy theories demonizing broad swaths of people. Fish in a barrel!
Or folks like yourself who think that all Democrats favor a porous border. I don't know any that want illegal immigration. Everyone I know wants a moral, rational approach to border control. One where we don't seperate families and say it is "for the best". That would be the right's position. You know, the "moral majority".
it's a really low bar to make facts up to suit your narrative and run with them.
How come nobody, including Trump, complain about the employers who hire all these illegals?
It wasn't done under Obama either.
There is a symbiotic relationship between business and government.
The business hires illegals at a fraction of the cost.
The government "raids" and fines the business.
The business pays the government money and goes back to hire more illegals.
It's a back door revenue stream for the Federal Government.
Where do fines go ? Into what kitty in the Federal Government ?
That's all "free money" to the government...unaccountable to taxpayers.
It's a win-win for both business and government. The loss is to Americans who won't see "tax dollars" to fund SS, Medicare, unemployment, etc.
It's like when the mafia collected protection money from businesses. All done under the table.

Well that is exactly my point. It will make shoving socialism down our throats much easier for them. Like I said it will quicken the process.

That's because the left blurs everything.
It conflates legal immigration with illegal immigration (ignoring the fact that many who came to the U.S. obeying every single law, paying every fee required by law, and waiting patiently for years often display and feel outrage at these demands for amnesty for illegals).
It claims that illegal aliens are more American than people born here.
And finally, by claiming America is illegitimate ("stolen land," slavery, genocide against Native Americans), America is not a real nation. America is a construct created by racist imperialists from Europe; it's not a traditional and historical nation like Japan or Egypt or Norway. Therefore, given America is illegitimate, there's no legal and no moral reason/duty to defend America's borders, because the borders themselves are an expression of the illegitimacy of this country which was born in and grew through racism, oppression, genocide, and all sorts of other injustices.
One must understand that the left, deep down, does not believe America even has the right to exist. Once that is understood, its anti-border stance is more easily understood. And that's not every Democrat voter, but the radical left does not believe in America as a genuine and legitimate nation-state.
One such group is the Democratic Socialists of America, of which Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a member. These people call each other "comrade." Here's their 2019 resolution on open borders:
Be it resolved that DSA supports the demand for open borders;
Be it resolved that DSA supports the the uninhibited transnational free movement of people, the demilitarization of the US-Mexico border, the abolition of ICE and CBP without replacement, decriminalization of immigration, full amnesty for all asylum seekers and a pathway to citizenship for all non-citizen residents;
They want ICE and CBP gone.
Without replacement.
That means unrestricted drugs, guns, and people being trafficked.
And not just that - they are often drunk in the belief their position is morally superior, so anything cited by those with divergent outlooks is summarily dismissed as racism, as paranoia, or as "fake news."
I wonder - people who defend aliens coming into U.S. territory violating laws and then defend their permanence here in further violation of laws tend not to live anywhere near the neighborhoods where illegal aliens live. These foreigners cannot afford to live in more expensive/prestigious neighborhoods and towns.
It is always easy to pontificate about an issue and to do so pretending to speak from a position of moral superiority when one is completely removed by distance from the very issue.

I saw up close and personal just how illegals destroy communities as they did that to mine.
Those who sit on their high horses and call others vile names think that it will never happen to their communities. If so, they are in for a rude awakening as Biden/Harris want to force Section 8 housing into every single community, even the most affluent ones.

I don't care where in the world an illegal alien comes from. Nor do I care if they sneaked across a border or overstayed a visa. They all have one thing in common and that is this --- They have no business being here and need to leave. Period.
