Almost like Trump made it clear that he hated Bezos and didn't want his administration to be involved with Amazon in any way.

Why would they offer to help the Trump admin after the Trump admin had made their feelings clear?

We do need anyone who has national distribution outlets to step up now, since the states seem to be making a bit of a muddle out of it. I for one think we have to consider everything in order to get out of this pandemic.

Oh it does seem Amazon was talking to the CDC distribution team ...no formal confirmation of a letter.

Sos there you have it -- Amazon did reach out......

Almost like they want to help out a particular person

Simple answer is: because Amazon went straight to the top - in that case the CDC and Dept of Health.

Now that Biden is in charge, they are going to Biden.

When leaders don't lead, people go around them to get things done. Take this as a lesson in leadership.

This is also a lesson in getting things done - when you know the guy in charge is useless, you don't waste time with that guy - you go to the next level down.

You may not remember this but Trump all but declared war on the Founder of Amazon. His allies talked about all but breaking up the company, they spread lies that he was cheating on taxes, they wanted to block him buying a newspaper separate from his main business, so on, so forth. Why would Amazon ever trust Trump enough to offer going into an agreement with him?

And Bezos owns the Washington Post....which Trump lumps in with the NY Times.
I couldn't imagine Trump taking any offer of help from Amazon/Bezos.

The white house had their heads buried in the sand about the virus for at LEAST the past two months, you think they would have approved anything? NOPE. Trump didn't care about it..
