What did they think would happen voting for him it's not like the democrats never mentioned they wanting to destroy fossil fuels? You have to remember for years the Democrats promised and NEVER did anything.
I have to give Joe Biden credit....he is following in Trump's legacy and actually implementing his campaign promises.

There is also the fact that many in his party have gone farther left and they have a loud voice now and the media and social media giants are in their corner and he has to appease them.
