It's mainstream media and leftists constantly attacking President Trump and Republicans on Twitter that got to me. The ruthlessness, the lack of human conscience.

Wait a minute -- You don't think the crap Trump did and said over the past four years deserved criticism? There is good and abundant reason people are saying Trump was the worst president in the history of the country, and he deserved every criticism he got! There ought to be a list of his egregious words and scandals around here somewhere, but apparently there are so many, they are all categorized on the internet in terms of environmental, foreign policy, domestic policy, Covid response, personal name-calling, etc., etc. But really, what do you expect from a malignant psychopath game-show host?

Trump destroyed himself. The pattern stayed the same for the entire 4 years. He bet that he could win again in 2020 with the same divisiveness and combativeness that he felt had won him the 2016 election.

Big mistake. Very bad decision. Totally on him.

All the dude had to do was switch it up. Stop all the red-faced angry tall tales. Halt the combative Tweets.
Just pretend that he could be a dignified world leader for a few months. Accomplish something, not on a golf course.

He simply didn't have it in him to win. Couldn't contain his self-destructive impulses. Not even for a few months. So, his inability to run a smart campaign left all his supporters in the lurch. They are simply unable to hold him (or themselves) accountable, so we have a fictional "stolen election".

Whenever weak people are unable to accept their failures, they project it outward. Why they never learn! But, it is a good thing. Imagine if Trump had learned anything in his 4 years. He might've actually won.

For 2 years the GOP had control of the House, Senate, and the White House (not to mention SCOTUS). What could Democrats do to stop the GOP at all for two years? Absolutely nothing. Why was Trump so ineffective? Was it:

a) evil liberals in the deep state/mainstream media/wherever

b)Trump was incompetent

I do not know what it'll take to show people that Trump was woefully, historically, unimaginably, incompetent.

See Michael Lewis's book The Fifth Risk, which essentially shows that Trump's epic mismanagement of the Executive Branch would leave the USA terribly vulnerable in case of an actual crisis. That book was published in 2018.

If I had to pinpoint the moment when Trump , left entirely to his own instincts, completely blew it, it would be the second debate.

When asked if he was capable of denouncing white supremacists, he froze, then blurted out "Stand back, and stand by" - the motto of the Proud Boys, a violent racist militia!

If that did not mobilize inner city and swing voters, I don't know what might!

Yep, his loss is on him. 100%! And making up some fictional election fraud, or pointing their anger at anyone but Trump, is indeed a form of mental illness. Plain as day, too. Knowing this, these deranged Trump supporters play, "I am rubber, you are glue". Stunted emotional development.

Like Gollum, they reach for Trump desperately, murmuring, "My Precious".

He lost in the very same way everyone loses an election, including the way Hillary Clinton lost to him in 2016.

There was no cheating, no fraud. More voters went for Biden than Trump, and Trump just lost.

There were no schemes. There was only the opposition that is always supposed to be there in every election. Democracy depends on opposition to function properly. That's why our 2 political parties exist. One for conservatives, the other for liberals.

The two basic natures of humans. A human is either one or the other all their life it seems.

But even that is not the reason why he was impeached for the second time. The real reason is Trump attempted to incite the government of the United States by violent overthrow, hoping for a successful coup.
While he was still the legally elected President. This is the first time any President in our history has been so traitorous.

If we lived in another nation, Trump would be arrested by now, a trial would be underway, and he would soon be facing execution, along with some of his staff and possibly 2 of his children.

If this had happened 150 years ago, we would have witnessed the Trump family undergoing mass execution on the scaffold late this spring.

So don't whine. We are too civilized now to ever give Trump what he really deserves. All he'll ever get for punishment is no opportunity to ever hold an office again. That won't bother him for long. Neither will the public approbation he'll get, because guys like you will always cheer him up by your blind allegiance.

Okay.. How would you feel about this if the roles were reversed and Trump had won under suspicious circumstance with mail in ballots, questionable counting, poll watchers being pushed aside and out of the way to the point they tried to use binoculars, vote counting in swing states that was stopped only to be resumed when no one was watching, accepting ballots without matching signatures or none at all, states violating their own Constitutions to ensure as many mail in votes as possible, ballots being shuttled around to where they were needed and a whole lot of other questionable and shady circumstances?

The Left spent 3 years denying and denouncing Trump on a mad witch hunt involving Russia and the evidence that started that avalanche was nothing compared to the allegations that have thrown doubt into the 2020 election.

The Dems certainly have not done much to try and heal the nation and calm peoples suspicions but they have actually done the opposite by telling us to sit down, shut up and lets hug.

If the roles were reversed we all know what would have happened to this country and the mob that swarmed the Capital would be nothing but a "Peaceful Protest" compared to the destructive violence.

Remember when Trump told everyone that he believed Putin and not U.S. Intelligence services?

That was a hoot! I mean, who wouldn't believe Putin? Not like he ran the KGB, or something.

Be neat if Biden released the recordings of those "regular" calls with Putin. That would be entertaining as heck.

I imagine the mere suggestion that those calls might be "leaked", with all the fawning and bromance, would keep Trump in check.

I'd also imagine that some big players in Trump's former orbit, are itching to reveal what they know, now that Trump is defanged.
