The only way you could do that is besides ending legal immigration, controlling how many children families have. Gets into dark territory real fast.....

that's exactly the problem. most people are not looking to get a pent house on park ave. they're just trying to get a modest home within 20 miles of city center and are being priced out.
It didn't used to be a big deal to live near a major city, or a city at all. Now with Covid people should be spreading out but I can't see it happening large scale. They still want to stuff themselves around a big city and continuing inflated prices reflects that.

housing prices have been inflated since the mid 2000s.
Let markets WORK. If BUYERS didn't pay the prices for housing then they would not be valued like they are. When a correction is needed, it will happen and I see one coming during the early Biden years. Watch. Once people start losing their jobs and uncertainty in the business world is the norm, in large numbers then the housing markets will stall.
