Yet another one. I don't get why folks are doing so much shooting in Buckhead.

A man is dead after someone opened fire on his car while he was driving through Buckhead Sunday morning.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at a hospital, according to Atlanta police spokesman Officer Anthony Grant.

Investigators said the man had been driving in the 2500 block of Piedmont Road shortly before 3 a.m. A woman was riding with him.

Buckhead attracts criminals with expensive taste that's why.

Bottoms relationship with the police since the riots has left the door open for crime.

This is all added to by the judges in Fulton County who believe in catch and release on crime. That has been an issue for 3 or 4 years now. There was an AJC series on it then. I don't remember the exact numbers, but there were some criminals who were facing over 10 charges and were suspected in many more that were still roaming committing more crimes.

Buckhead has money and its now open for crime.

Driving a rolls at that hour and getting shot dead...somehow I think the gunman knows/has a motive for that specific person. Doesn't make it right, but definitely highlights the gang element that's been in play for a decade or more at that intersection. I'm not sure there's an easy way to "police" this problem either.

Most of the late-night violence in Buckhead stems from a handful of clubs and lounges that are regular public nuisances. Shutting down these establishments for illegal alcohol sales and other code violations would do wonders for the area, but CoA, for whatever reason, is unwilling to address the problem.

That's what they thought in 2004, too. So they closed down the bars and clubs and built super duper high end shopping there instaed.

Guess what problem that failed to solve?

So you better come up with a different solution if you actually want it to work.

Worked pretty well for over a decade, so I'm not sure why you think it wouldn't work again.

This. And I am sure some palms are being greased, it's the Atlanta way sadly.
