So Biden voters are you fine with the developing rift between Canada and America? Or should Biden reverse his horrible EO?

https://globalnews.ca/news/7595803/k...-kenney-biden/

News of the pipeline’s cancellation sparked a wide admonishment of Biden from several leaders across Canada — including the premiers of Alberta and Saskatchewan, who are in charge of economies most likely to be negatively impacted by its blocking.

For Alberta, the implications of Keystone XL’s cancellation cuts even deeper as the provincial government has invested about $1.5 billion into several phases of its development.

On Thursday, Kenney called for retaliatory sanctions against the U.S. unless Biden revisited his decision.

Meh. Alberta is filled with a bunch of First World conservative white people, so screw 'em.

At least, that's how Joe Biden and his leftist followers see it.

Everything is relative I suppose. What may be called conservative in Alberta or London would not pass the muster here.

Biden doesn't care. Canada isn't paying his salary-China is.

I'm conflicted on it. On the one hand the investors went forward with the project on the basis they went forward with it. Phase IV has been in constant litigation anyway and not really gone anywhere since the Obama administration. Trump reversed that decision but, well, at that point it was obviously a very larger risk with as the US had demonstrated it wasn't a reliable partner on the project. And then there's just the fact that really not that much as moved forward. On the other hand, yeah, we did pretty much screw them over. Not that the rest of the project is suddenly useless without Phase IV but it's not as useful.

Personally, I was for Keystone. Oil is going to flow from Canada to the US so we can drive our SUVs and have all our plastics we do so love regardless of how it flows.

It's not a horrible EO, it's LONG overdue, you see, you have people like Trump who were on a mission to pollute the planet as much as humanly possible, and then you have someone who FINALLY is going to address climate change.

I don't expect scientifically illiterate Republicans to understand.

Pipelines cause global warming?

Actually, some of us Republicans do understand enough to know that pipelines are a more environmentally friendly means of transporting bulk liquids than trucks and railroads are. Maybe Biden, not the sharpest tool in the drawer, thinks that if he shuts off the pipeline, the oil will stop flowing. But that's like saying that if you put a boulder in a river, the water will stop flowing. Of course, it won't; it'll just find another way around. Likewise, the oil will still be coming, whether it's in a pipeline or on a truck or on a train.

I would have preferred it to come via the safest, most environmentally friendly means available. But I'm just a Republican, so what do I know?
