There is no case that would stand up to a real trial according to the laws in this country. They know that, they also know that trying a private citizen in the Senate is unconstitutional, none of that matters to our mentally ill friends on the left. They are motivated by irrational hatred. They are blinded by it.

Well, there's the trick. No impartial judge nor jury would convict Donald Trump of "inciting insurrection" or even "inciting a riot" or "inciting violence.

To actually convict somebody of something like that, you need some very direct statements by President Trump commanding his followers to:
  • Break into the Capital.
  • Seize every member of Congress.
  • Lynch Mike Pence.
  • Engage in violence of any sort.
That sort of thing. Well, he didn't say anything like that.

Of the roughly 200K+ people in attendance, only about 1000 went into the capital. Of those 1000, some were let in. Others just followed the crowd. Once they got inside, some didn't do anything but wander around, surprised to even be there. If Trump had been commanding "his troops" to assault the capital, one would think that the greater majority of the 200K+ would have been in on it. You'd think they'd also have had some semblance of a plan. And most significantly, you'd think that Trump would have been right there onsite marshaling the troops. This was vastly more chaotic and disorganized -- and quite a bit less destructive -- than the BLM/Antifa riots we saw all last year and which are still continuing today. They didn't have funding programs setup to bail people out of jail, nor did they have any agreement with government prosecutors to refuse to prosecute. BLM and Antifa were vastly better organized.

45 of them just said loudly, publicly and on the record to toss it. Last night. Don’t seem the least concerned about their political future.

I think I detect wishful thinking...and a desire to somehow portray Nancy’s dingbat move as oh so clever.

"Reps largely sides against holding Trump impeachment trial So Why Are Dems Still Pursuing Impeachment?"

Because it is the best approach to secure our form of government for future generations....no one is above the laws so thoughtfully written by our forefathers.

Just like their first failed attempt in their 2017 Article of Impeachment on, wait for it, Russian Collusion. LOL

That was to ‘save our Democracy’

That sound you heard in 2017 was the Dem/Media credibility leaving the building.

Republicans are going to be able to show Maxine Waters' foul mouth to the whole country again and drag dozens of other democrats through the mud who have either encouraged political violence or who have been silent when the animal mobs were burning down cities this past summer.

Also they will show the clips of the democrats contesting the 2000, 2004, and 2016 elections on the floor of congress.

And then republicans will show Trump's speech where he says to peacefully protest.

To end it all, Trump will be acquitted once again (2 for 2), but this time even the Chief Justice won't be giving it any modicum of normalcy by his absence.

Democrats are nutty as a fruitcake on this one. Who knows why they would do it?

Our forefathers CERTAINLY didn't want partisan impeachments and kwiki-mart trials in the House.

That's why they put the 2/3rds majority in for convictions.

The Democrats are doing political stunts. Don't be silly, and don't act like this is "securing" anything for future generations. It's making a mockery out of our government for future generations.

"Securing our form of government"? What nonsense!! Our forefathers established government for the people, of the people, by the people. They thought that the people could decide. The pursuit of impeachment is a pretty blatant attempt to take the choice away from the American people. "No one is above the laws"?? What laws are you talking about?? The right to free speech? The right to peaceably assemble? What specific crimes do you in your undoubted propagandized mind think that Donald Trump is guilty of?

If Donald Trump runs again, I probably won't vote for him, just to be clear. But if he runs, then it's up to the American people to decide whether or not they'll have him again. It is the stuff of totalitarianism to condescendingly move to revoke the American people's right to elect whomever they see fit to elect to whatever office they wish. If they elect Donald Trump again, that's up to the voters and nobody else.

I have only not voted for a republican for president twice. Both times when Trump was the choice. Trump quite simply is the most detestable person to ever sat in the Oval Office. What I will never understand id this single minded devotion to such an obvious scam artist.

After Trump's BS since Election Day? I support making an example of him for all future Presidents to remember. Just because you are POTUS doesn't mean you can get away with acting like Trump.
