I bet most liberals and liberal politicians have never spent much time in Detroit, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, St Louis, Buffalo. If they have then they would know how difficult it is for people and cities to recover from lost jobs and industries. Just like the rust belt, some will be able to move and find work elsewhere but when you kill an industry there will be negative long term consequences for people and the areas they live in.
Its silly to think you can find jobs and new career for all or even most of those displaced by the government banning their industry.
Just the most important criteria by which to judge laws. Laws that harm this country, by killing jobs and putting more Americans in poverty, are bayd.
The keystone pipeline would not create anymore than 50 permanent jobs and could risk our entire economy if there was a leak of crude oil into the Ogallala Aquifer.

How many more "gloom and doom" scenarios that aren't going to happen can you dream up to try to make Joe look like anything other than a disaster? The oil (both from Alberta and also from ND, which XL was to carry) will still get shipped. Just now, it's by rail, which has a much greater risk of spills and environmental damage. But since the largest owner of rail line stock is a major Dem donor-no one on the left cares about that.

My son is a civil engineer and the risk of our country's main aquifer was a real concern. If that aquifer became contaminated with crude oil from a pipeline leak, our country would tank economically. That aquifer provides water for most of our farmland and to a third of our country. Crude oil is highly corrosive to pipes which is precisely why those pipelines have had so many leaks in the past.
What would the US get for this risk? 50 jobs and the crude is exported straight out of the gulf port to other countries. Canada cannot export via frozen ports during colder seasons.
Yes I believe, changes are coming. New areas of work will be created. Good paying technical jobs and the support needed to keep it all running.
Cars and Trucks will be running on different fuels
Oil will still be needed. Oil ,plastics are all around us. .
The Industrial Revolution changed the world.
The technology revolution is upon us and will not be stopped.
Lmao and I believe in the tooth fairy
