Dems didn't seem to have a problem with 3 months of attacks and terrorism before that. They even got mad when Trump tried to defend federal buildings.

It's only been about a week after the inauguration. Covid is no longer used to condemn the sitting president for the death toll.
Nearly 8.5k died on Tues./Wed.(4256/4198), after Biden said the number of deaths were trending down, and what do the headlines read? Something about the Bachelor, Harris' stepdaughter modeling, a story about a UCLA gymnast, and some stuff about GameStop...

Under Trump you had:
"One-day US deaths top 3,000, more than D-Day or 9/11"
"Trump remains silent as US passes 250,000 COVID-19 deaths"

Every day it was a new "outrage" headline. As the death toll has stayed consistently high under Biden, where are the outraged headlines?

The ignorant masses will ignore Biden if the propaganda is all about making fun of Trump.
What makes you think Joe Biden WANTS any cover?
Snap out of it Baptist. You've been sucking up too much conspiracy juice.
Joe Biden has 4 years to make his mark on history, a mark that he as wanted to leave ever since 1988 when he made his first try at getting the job he has now.

32 years is a lifetime to carry such a large ambition.
I'm sure Joe had given it up until he realized he had a miraculous second chance at seeing it come true after Trump was elected.

Now that he's finally reached his lifetime's greatest goal, he's not going to waste a second of it because he's old, and has little time left to waste.
And he's certainly not going to hide any of his accomplishments. That's no way to get them cast into history's steel plates.

No.

What is the impeachment REALLY about?

The incitement that caused a mob to attempt the armed insurrection of the government of the United States by the seizure of our Capitol, the seat of our nation's government.

Which resulted in the deaths of 5 people and the loss by destruction to our nation's most treasured seat of power.

Get it straight in your mind, Baptist. This impeachment was never about taking the focus off Biden. That's a very silly, childish and immature thought. So is the thought the Democrats are trying to make fun of Donald Trump.
They do not. They are attempting to bring him to justice for his failed usurpation by the only legal means that exist.

If Trump gets away with it, what's to stop the next guy or the next after him to try to stage a coup?
Nothing. Nothing at all, if the next guy can hang on to his base support and be more careful in his plans.

Even the punishment Trump faces is mighty weak and mild in comparison to his offense. He's so wealthy he won't miss the relatively minor perks he would lose, and he's never going to run for any office again, now that he knows he could lose it he tried.

If impeachment carried a death sentence upon conviction, as it does in some other democracies, I'm pretty sure Trump would have never have sent his minions off to go hang Pence on the Capitol steps.

That's the stated goal. but no one really thinks there are enough republicans to vote for impeachment.

this is about as the OP stated, keeping Trump out there to hate on and blame.
and more importantly to use this as an attack on any republicans that don't vote to impeach.

This is a chance to tarnish guys like Ted Cruz so they cant win in 2024.

The amusing part is the Democrats don't really need to do anything. The Trumpublicans are propping the man up and will provide a strong motivation to drive Democratic voters for years. I mean the guy is rumored to run again in 2024, so what Democrat would want that to happen with a Republican-controlled Congress?

Anyway, the President is already impeached. A vote to acquit will help the Democrats for years to come.

Nobody will remember or a give a damn what a senator did in this vote in 2 years let alone 4. Nevertheless I expect a bunch of Dems in 2022 to try and argue about a vote that took place 20 months earlier in their campaigns.

Trumpettes are running out of things to talk about. Crazy.

Yep totally a smokescreeen even though Biden's executive orders have been getting more airtime in the "MSM" than the impeachment.

Wait...It just came to me what this thread was REALLY about!

The MAGA crowd can't go a day without uttering the name of Dear Leader so they start threads just so they can hear the word "Trump" on their tongue, or feel the letters T-R-U-M-P on the tips of their fingers. Such sweet satisfaction.

Democracy? Democracy is a vile form, where a majority can persecute a minority - legally.
Americans are promised a REPUBLICAN FORM OF GOVERNMENT, wherein all men are created equal and have Creator endowed rights that governments were instituted to secure - not trespass, tax, or infringe - unless by consent of the governed.
