It's who they have become here in 2021, but Republicans (in general) through the 70's understood the risk that the far-Right movement represented to their party - and most importantly, to their pocketbooks. Both Republicans and Democrats crossed paths in the center, simply because a hybrid system had been successfully generating wealth and prosperity since WWII.

Democrats in the olden days might wring their hands about the lust for profits and the consumerism of the Republicans, but in reality it is the one thing that everyone had in common.

Today's Neo-fascist Right, represented well by Marjorie Taylor Green - is fueled by the usual dogma that we've heard a thousand times, fear and hatred of "the others", enthroning a populist ultra-nationalist leader... yes we all know the formula by now.

Extreme ideologies always lead to unrest and in the worst case, anarchy - never good for business. If we were at war with an enemy outside our borders, like in the World Wars of the 20th century, it might actually be a boon to our economy at least in the short term. But a civil war or civil unrest is another matter entirely, particularly in this case simultaneous with a pandemic. When the Radical Right movement begins to shake the foundations of our economy and our markets, there will be a come to Jesus moment for the old school Republicans (and Democrats for that matter).

Admittedly justifiable? Are you serious? What spread of Soviet-style Communism? There are no communists in the Democratic party. What Bernie Sanders proposes is old school FDR New Deal style programs and regulations. Sanders, Warren, AOC, etc. advocate a Western European type of governing that mixes free markets with social programs that aim to improve middle class quality of life. They don't advocate having the government nationalize the private sector.

The whole "Democrats are communists" thing is one big straw man. The red scare is not justifiable at all.

People are sick and tired of sane people doing such a sorry job of governing the country, so they want to give crazy extremists a stab at it. Many people would vote for Alex Jones, if he ran for political office.

AOC has simply too many to mention just on her own.

And most of the Democrats in Congress believe in these absurdities.
Therefore, you strongly think who's really right are the Republican extremists, so you will quite gladly vote for them.

Just about everything you wrote above is FALSE. Are you just making up crap now, or are you parroting made-up crap you read on some website?

Show me the rule that says you can't use the word 'father' in legislation.

Show me where a democratic official says we should ban air travel and eating of meat.

Who said sending money to the government would change climate?

Why don't you look at the extremist freaks you have. Pelosi, AOC Maxine etc beat anything in the GOP. You sit there with your brain in neutral and CNN burned into your TV screen and get all these nutty ideas.

jewish space lasers started the california fires. Thats one of the current GOP nuts. And it isnt even the most offensive or stupid thing that she says.

And Trump just gave her his backing.

THATS who is representing your party. And you want to compare that to AOC? Please. Thats weak whataboutism to say the least. Get your party in order or no one will ever take any of you seriously. People really are leaving the Republican party because of this sort of nonsense.

That was a decade ago roughly, and he was widely mocked for it. Additionally he responded to folks indicating that no, he didnt believe that was actually going to occur:
Quote:

In an interview, the Decatur Democrat said he was kidding and simply speaking metaphorically to make a point during the committee hearing.
Johnson said, “I can say things that are quite humorous and not smile about it and it leads people to think about what I said.”
“Often, I’ve been known to use humor as I deliver a message. That’s just one of the gifts that I think that I have,” Johnson deadpanned.
“I’ve been around long enough in this district for voters to know that if Hank said Guam is in danger of capsizing, they would know precisely that I have a sense of humor.”
Meanwhile your loon is deadly serious. She also harasses children who survive school shootings, and informs them she is armed. Any more comparisons that are apples and oranges, and a decade old?
