These lawyers have finally realized that Trump has a mine attached to the bottom of his ship. No rational person with a sense of self-preservation would board that doomed vessel. Anyone who stands up for him now in a public venue, will be forever tainted. I'm expecting that many lawyers who have pushed Trump's false claims will be disbarred, when the heads really start to roll, after some turn state's evidence, trying to save their own hides. His ersatz world will crumble from the inside out.
What I really want to hear, and it would make my day. I want to hear Trump say he will defend himself. That will be a show to see.
It appears they left because he wanted to focus on election fraud as a defense. I wonder who will replace them, he needs to file a response by Tuesday. The lawyers who departed are blaming Giuliani for both impeachments.
Trump said nothing to incite "insurrection". In fact, an investigation found that those who caused damage had planned to do so weeks before Trump even spoke.
Why do you continue to defend him? What’s the point?
He can’t do anything for you policy wise....he’s no longer in office.
Do you think he’s going to run again and get elected?
Trump can walk into the Senate chamber, take a dump on the floor, and get standing ovation from the Republican caucus. He could say “I did it and I’d do it again” amd get acquitted. He could confess to ten worse things and the Republicans would just shrug.
There is no Republican Party there is only the Trump adoration and protection society.
If Trump still had Twitter we would be seeing tweet after tweet of how these were the worst lawyers ever assembled, utterly incompetent losers, and that he fired them all.
This is a great opportunity for any lawyers who may be looking for work. They probably won't get paid unless he wins, or even if he does, but it will be great exposure.
That said, a lot of people die from exposure. The intelligent legal eagles will avoid with prejudice.
Sounds like a great job for a young lawyer. Work for free for months and risk being disbarred peddling Trump's election fraud lies.
