I do not live in New York, so how he runs things there affect me as much as how the president of Portugal runs his government. It other words, it does not affect me or anyone that does not live in New York. If he was the POTUS then it would be very different.
In other words, anyone outside of New York wasting their time and energy on this needs to get a life!

If governors do a lousy job, and their destructive policies are running their states into the ground and putting them into debt, the dems in the US Congress will use billions in taxpayer dollars to bail out for bad decisions made by those states.
So it does affect you in the end. Bailing out the states for the horrible decisions made by their governors also incentivizes future idiot governors to be reckless and foolish, because their mistakes will just be bailed out.
It's the same with the corrupt banksters, they mismanage their companies in 2007, destroy our 401Ks and cause a national recession, and we taxpayers are forced to bail them out.

As a state with some of the most challenging issues for covid (dense population, travel, transpiration, and trade centers, many nursing homes, hundreds of thousands of health care professionals, sprawling geography, financial challenges and on and on) he has played a leadership role for our nation while old don just dropped the ball and told people to go shoot up with bleach.
Cuomo is a remarkable leader for America. If you don't see that you aren't listening to him and most likely are getting your opinions from Fox TV.

Apples and oranges. Cuomo screw-up consequences would be mostly limited to NY and it's up to NYers to deal with him, if they feel he acted in a damaging manner. trump's screw-ups, on the other hand, affect/ed the entire country, even the entire world. And therefore the majority of the country's voters fired him.
